Cute little top floor bar in quaint Summer Hill. Offers great wine and other alcohol selection, and food is fresh and tasty. Service is always great! It’s nice to sit in the balcony outside on a good day and people watch below as you sip on a cocktail

We haven't tried the food. I absolutely need to go back. What a gem we found in the heart of summer Hill. Downstairs you can find the red penny restaurant.. Something to try next time

First time at Vernon’s bar - very lovely vibes and staff. I highly enjoyed the roasted cauliflower and sashimi.

Really nice spot in Summer Hill for food and drinks. Staff and service were fantastic. Reccomend if you are in the area.

Recently had my birthday here and booked out the venue on a Sunday afternoon. Nina and Karen were so helpful in organising things and customising the canape and drinks menus in the leadup to the event. All our guests were really happy with the nice and friendly service and hospitality. The drinks (especially the cocktails) were very popular and they were very generous with the servings of delicious food. Thanks so much to the whole team for making it such a memorable day!

My wife, 4 friends and I ended up here after we had a disappointing first time visit to The Rio down the street. Refer to The Rio for my review of that establishment.

The Vernon had a nice atmosphere. It was busy and the staff were very welcoming, charming and professional.

Table service was quick - we ordered 6 drinks including 4 cocktails, which were all in front of us within 10 minutes.

They have a fabulous extensive list of gin, rum, whisky, and cocktails. Good eclectic crowd.

Staff provided great service by continuously roving the floor and checking up on our drinks - not overwhelming, but just right.

We would all happily return to Vernon's Bar.

The perfect place to take a few friends, the family, or your partner to for a couple of drinks and a nice feed. Great gin and tonic selections, with equally diverse food. You must try the cauliflower, octopus and potatoes. Have been here probably 20 times.

What a great little find, tucked upstairs above One Penny Red restaurant - superb gin cocktails, fab wine list and awesome food - the beef short rib was divine! But best of all was the attentive, friendly and knowledgeable service from Karen (I hope I have remembered your name correctly!?)! We will def be back with friends!

Little gem of a place. Friendly staff, delish food, wide range of beers (mostly cans), cocktails and wine, chilled ambience. Upscale from a pub, but not pretentious in the slightest. Dark but definitely not dingy. One Penny Red restaurant downstairs if you're hungry ;)

They have a stupendous drinks list. The paté and brioche is wondrous and the fried potatoes made me very happy for a long time.

Amazing cocktails and food. Top picks would be the fried chicken, beef brisket and the mussels (Only $10 on Wednesday!). Really nice selection of G&T's as well. Cosy space with a small balcony great for evening drinks. Friendly staff with good recommendations and they even give you a small bowl of fried snacks on arrival. Absolutely recommend of your in the area.

I went there for their Wednesday mussels once and it was a very satisfying experience. Tonight I had a dinner with two friends, tried their beef short rib and squash and pate board. The quality of food was amazing. Service was friendly. Highly recommend this place!

Fabulous bar in summer hill. Really good share plates for nibbling. Huge spirits list, and also very good and interesting wines. The sommelier here has a reputation for knowing his stuff. Private room for 10. Verandah for warm days, inside for cold evenings. It's on the 1st floor of a renovated post office, with the fabulous One Penny Red underneath.

This was originally a post office from the 1800s. Now its one of the best restaurants. They have a downstairs restaurant which is more fine dining. Upstairs has a bar menu with share plates, (amazing) burger, and incredible drinks list.

Cosy and civil, great service. Perfect spot for a quiet drink.

Nice atmosphere and great staff. Always friendly and accommodating. Great selection of gin. Also has sound proofed walls so you can actually have a conversation.

Love this place. Cosy, good cocktails, great bar menu. Wouldn't even bother going to the restaurant downstairs when the food and drink quality here is so good and more casual

A hidden gem in a converted former Post Office in the Inner West of Sydney, with a fantastic whisky selection! Definitely a spot for a chilled drink with some friends!
