Tarraleah Cottages and Cabins 4 stars

Fantastic place for camping, huge space with awesome landscaping. Cozy and nice bar and cafe. All the powered sites are seperated beautifully with plant walls.

Loved the cottage was delightful would definatly stay there again. Nice walking trails close to Lake St Claire

Pros:
Room was neat and clean.
We stayed in Highlander Cabins.
As soon as you open the main door, there was living room and kitchen area. There was TV, Bar Fridge, microwave and utensils.
There was heater between living room and kitchen area.
Bathroom was clean & tidy.

Cons:
1. unfortunately there was no network for Optus.
Telstra and Vodafone are currently the only phone providers with signals in Tarraleah.
• Note- No wifi available as well.

2. We reached late at night around 10:30 pm and it was extremely difficult to locate where to collect the key from. We actually spent 10-15 mins and we almost decided to spend the whole night in car when we saw a light at one of the place. So decided to knock and lucky enough that they had our keys. That was a restaurant.

3. Utensils in room were dusty.

Very clean & comfortable - around 2 hours from Queenstown & 1 hour to the wall.

Lovely hidden gem. Just look hard to find entrance, coz worth it indeed

Great place to stay Excellent value for money

The place is so isolated. No reception, no internet access and it was hard to get there.
Good things about this place was friendly staffs, nice atmosphere restaurants altho it was bit expensive as there is only one place to eat.

Haben hier in einem ehemaligen Schulgebäude übernachtet. Das Zimmer war sauber aber etwas merkwürdig war die Atmosphäre. Da am Christmasday angereist war dort weder zum Check-In noch Check-Out auch nur ein Mensch. Schön... wenn man es mal etwas ruhiger haben möchte aber selbst in diesem Schulgebäude kein Mensch. Es gibt dort eine sehr große gut ausgestattete Gemeinschaftsküche. Allerdings... unbedingt Lebensmittel mitbringen. Selbst an ausreichend Benzin muss man denken. Nächster Tankstopp 15km entfernt... an Feiertagen gibt es nichts. Tarraleah sollte einmal ein Städtchen für Mitarbeiter des Wasserkraftwerkes werden... die Stadt wurde aber aufgegeben. Da die Cottages aber sehr schön gelegen sind kann man dort wunderbar herum Spazieren und einfach mal die Natur genießen.

basic accommodation, very small, badly designed. Road access is VERY bad, don't travel in bad weather or at night. BYO food as resident restaurant very expensive, small menu. would not book again.
