Moogerah Peaks National Park

Beautiful place and quite peaceful. nice camping spot in the mountains, lovely people. and tree swings to use which was a lot of fun!

Ps. sometimes a lil tortoise chases after you in the water🐢

We made it to the summit of Mt. Edwards via the Lake Moogerah Picnic Area. You need to pass by the dam, and from there, it is a Grade 5 unmarked trail (3 km to the summit). There is ample free parking, a picnic area, and a decent flush toilet. Please bring proper shoes; you need to be comfortable when you're trekking up that steep climb, and be careful of the many loose stones. There's a lot of shade, but please, please bring plentyyyyyy of water to stay hydrated. This is the most challenging hike I've been on; took a couple of breaks along the way. There is also a nice café you could check out after the hike.

A challenging hike to the summit of Mount Edwards, uphill and quite steep the whole way. Had to take a few rest breaks along the way, but well worth the view from the top. The track is quite gravelly and loose so take care when hiking back down.

ACCESS VIA THE DAM. We made the mistake taking Google maps' route and led us to a campground. To get to Mt Edwards you have to access via the Lake moogerah day use area. Beautiful and challenging hike.

Pretty challenging walk. Not dangerous though. Took us 1.5 hours each way including rest breaks and photo stops.

Be prepared for walking, take water and enjoy yourself. Some climbing and scrabbling up rocks as you get further up, flattens out right at the top. Great views, you can see Brisbane in the distance, Cunningham's gap to the west and south and the gold coast hinterlands to the east.

This is an amazing hidden gem.
Picturesque scenery. A great place to take the jet skis for a run in fresh water.

Far far away from Brisbane city. Watch out some wild animals like cows or birds. But it was calm and peaceful place to take a rest. There is a camping space also. If you are on time, you can see the milky way! But I couldn’t see it just I saw many stars and felt cool wind

This is an outstanding picnic ground and so empty !!
I don't get it . I know it was wet and cool on the 5th july; but it was Friday pm .
A truly lovely spot oozing tranquility and so peaceful.
I am unable to describe the beauty of the creek side picnic spots and the "Pavilion" with lights and a power outlet was positioned overlooking the dam wall would satisfy the most fastidious person .
Outstanding is all I can say to SEQ Water - great work .

Don't attempt on a hot day. There is no respite from the incline. View at the top is spectacular

Great walk up Mt Edwards early morning, awesome views. Back down to the cafe for awesome coffee and muffins.
