Joe Black Cafe

Excellent coffee and great food. We really enjoyed breakfast at Joe Black Cafe the other weekend. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. We look forward to coming back again.

Highly recommend this place. We ordered long black coffee, bircher muesli and sourdough toast with poached eggs and grilled tomato.
Everything was delicious.

Coffee was great (none of the disgusting astringent and bland taste you get from some other cafes).

Bircher muesli was fantastic. Portion size was massive and more importantly it had so much flavour and tons of fruit. Highly recommend this dish.

Toast tasted great and eggs were cooked to perfection.

Couldn't fault anything.

The owner was very cheerful and active, which was good to see.

Sorry about the rude customer who got all weird and upset when you asked him to move the pram so we could leave.

If we come to Sydney again, we will definitely be coming back for sure.

Don’t usually leave reviews but the service from (who I am assuming is the owner) was so nice. He was so friendly and lovely. Complimented my tattoos which put a big smile on my face! Had the jasmine tea which was with a twist. Was delicious. Then for breakfast I had sourdough, avo and smoked salmon which was a great portion size and value for money. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

Great coffee and food. A lovely spot to stop and recharge. The staff are fabulous, attentive and friendly. The Bircher muesli was delightful.

Thank you Alan and Team! Visiting Sydney, jet-lagged, waking up way too early and we needed a place to eat breakfast. Joe Black’s was open so we gave it a shot. It was awesome! The bolognese breakfast was delicious and the cappuccinos were great. The Barista brings next-level froth artistry!

I have no idea why I never came before; 4.6 stars on Google reviews (out of >600 reviews) is a great score. We were not disappointed. The owner was very friendly, the staff great, and the food was great, too. I like the atmosphere with all these plants. I will be back for sure. It will probably become one of my regular cafe for me.

Love this place, is worth the walk! food is excellent, clean and tidy place, nice atmosphere, music always super cool and service is very kind. Love the plants everywhere, eggs Benedict are absolutely delicious 😋

Love this place!!!! The shop atmosphere is warm. seats are comfortable!!! The presentation of food is 10/10!!! Taste is great!!!! Highly recommended the Bolognese mince with toasts!!!! Inexpensive price. Big portion!!!

The boss is a very nice and friendly gentleman. He goes to every tables to check if we are satisfied with our experiences.

Always happy to be back here. Coffee’s probably the best in the area. Baristas happy to help you pick the right beans for takeaway.

Muffins are amazing. Only problem is they often get sold out 😂

I hope they add some more food options, but the eggs benny is awesome, coming from someone who doesn’t like eggs Benny. Owner’s happy to chat.

We love breakfast and we LOVE Joe Black. I had the Stormin Norman and my wife had the Eggs Benedict, and a really good almond croissant. Great service and a really nice chat with the owner. Wonderful place!!

The bowls are very good, Chief Allan is so friendly! We loved to have breakfast here! Fine Cappuccino 👍

Loved it so much that we came back every morning to try something new! Heaps of veg and vegan options, and the coffee and pastries are amazing. Friendly team eager to chat and share but work quickly. They seem to be popular with the office workers nearby who popped in regularly (the staff knew many and greeted some by name). I wish this place were my neighborhood coffee place!

Highly recommend. Best breakfast out I’ve had in a very long time! I had the eggs bene with bacon and a Magic coffee and both were fabulous! The owner made us feel very welcome and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back when in Sydney again. If you haven’t been before, you should, you won’t be disappointed!

An absolute gem. Food, service and drinks were all amazing. The eggs benny with bacon was creamy and smooth and the matcha iced latte was light and tasty. First time having onsen eggs and I'm in love, the firmer yet soft and custardy yolk is delightful. Will definitely be back next time we're in Sydney :)

Best cafe in/near CBD. Owners are extremely friendly. So many excellent new drinks to try. I had the Voodoo, and my wife had the Macha Strawberry Milk Latte, which may have been the best non-coffee drink ever. Smashed avo was delicious

The Stormin Norman (I had it with an extra poached egg and extra hollandaise sauce) is to die for. They prepare their poached eggs with a special way called “onzen”. Absolutely delicious!
