Lovely relaxing time camping at Cuppacumbalong.

As the shoulder season picked a nice spot to setup close to the fence overlooking the river. Fire pits and wood are available, and lovely way to enjoy a long weekend 😌👌🍂🔥

Helpful staff popped by as we were setting up, and lovely to get easy access to gas bottle for the BBQ for meals.

New amenities building is beside the homestead, and the facilities are clean and easy to use. Hot water was great especially to warm up following the colder nights 🌙

A great walking track along the river corridor just outside the paddock gate.

Looking forward to returning in future 😊

Absolutely loved our stay here. We camped in the open field and enjoyed all the amazing facilities including kitchen and showers (typically a luxury when you camp). It’s very child friendly location and the chicken, sheep and alpacas are beautiful. It’s close to some wonderful bush walks and the owners were so kind to give us great tips on what to see in the area. The place is so well organised with fire pits and firewood. It’s kept very neat and it’s a wonderful escape from the city. Whether you are a new camper or a seasoned and experienced one looking for some luxury and ease we couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

One of the nicest places I've stayed in the country. Beautiful little homestead, friendly people and exelent heritage. Not to mention the blacksmithing that goes on in the area is utterly fascinating. 5 minute walk to a beautiful river exelent for swimming in and amazing country side. Would visit again.

We had an amazing weekend at the property. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful.

The homestead is a beautiful heritage building with a lot of potential the sad part is that the home needs more furniture and a life as it feels like you staying at an abandoned building.

Few things that help bring some life into the home could be:

Speakers for music, more furniture, some indoor plants, polished timer floors, some nice curtains and some new bed, the mattress and sheets are very clean and comfortable just the frames/bases need to be replaced.

The campsite is a paddock the feels like a farm. It has chickens, the rooster crows at dawn, you definitely get that earthy farm smell at night, and the path to the river needs a machete to cut through the thick grass, true there has been a lot of rain lately. The toilet and shower block are up at the house and the kitchen is in a shipping container a little closer to the camping areas. It all depends on what you looking for. It has a strong country feel and the campsite people were friendly and helpful.

I was married here many years ago so it is very sad to see the dead gardens and closed homestead. We choose it for the lush, green gardens and amazing flowers. Mostly open for occasional days and markets, but a shadow of the best days.

Edit (post owner reply): Great to hear work is happening. We revisit when possible, and I'm sure that many other Canberrians do the same. We will absolutely will return and see how it's all moving along. Thanks for the reply and update!
