Calm Waters Waterfront Sussex Inlet @ South Coast Holiday Retreats

A perfect spot for a break from city hustle.Cottage 2 was comfy,warm,clean and in the perfect spot for an early morning coffee in the sunshine,a beer next door and a meal at the RSL.Recommended and we will be back.

We had a group of 10 women stay here, we all had a great time, the facilities, location and hospitality was all amazing and we will definitely be returning again next year!

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Simply stunning. The hosts have thought of everything to make this place the ideal holiday home. We stayed in Cabin 4 and had a clear view of the river front. Lovely gardens with private spaces to relax. Close to the centre of town for everything else needed. Comfortable and quiet. The perfect spot to get some R&R.

Pretty hard to find a pet friendly stay so if you are in the area this is the one for you.

We rang with a short notice request for a couple of days with our much loved Red Cattle x Kelpie - a last holiday back to his old stomping grounds.

We explained to Jerry that Red was terminal (peripheral nerve sheath tumor) and Mum and Dad wanted to take him to St Georges Basin for a swim and then a fishing day at Sussex Inlet prior to his departure to the Great Park in the Sky we planned for Remembrance Day - this was definitely a fitting couple of days for us before returning home.

The accommodation was very comfortable for the three of us with everything you would really want ... easy access, outdoor furniture, neat and tidy kitchen with all the utensils you'll need, clean BBQ's galore, beautiful gardens, a fantastic view literally 30 metres or so to the water with easy access via gated white picket fences! Need I say more?

On our second day we returned from our fishing outing to find the BBQ's being thoroughly cleaned and the gardens being maintained ... not that either really needed it because everything was spot on anyway IMO.

All in all a 5 stars and 2 thumbs up stay from all of us - Red loved the place and is now Flying High but still on the ground in Mum and Dads hearts always - In Memory of Redmond: 01/07/2015 - 11/11/2022

My husband a I have just returned from a week away at Calm Waters Waterfront Cottages where we stayed in Cottage 2. What a great location, the cottages were clean, comfortable and were well maintained. Cottage 2, we were told was getting a refurbishment on the kitchen, but we found it quite nice, no problem using the older style stove for cooking. It is also pet friendly. Jerry and Libby have done a great job since taking over, it’s a credit to what they have done in the time. Right on the river with walking path right out front. Close to the RSL to the right and shopping strip. We would recommend this stay to anybody.

The location of the cabin is right next to the river which makes having your meals just fantastic and peaceful anytime of the day. The site is also very conveniently located 2min walk from local shops and restaurants along with a nice foot path to follow along the river to a kids playground for anyone who has kids. On top of that being located only a 30min drive from hyms beach and others is great for outings.

The bungalow its self was a very comfortable and perfect example of what a week/weekend away should be a place to sleep cook and relax at night or during bad weather with access to Netflix for night time movies.
It has two rooms one master and one spare with bunk beds very practical given the space.

My girlfriend and i were very pleased with our time spent here and would most definitely recommend this as a get away for couples and families.

We stayed in Cottage 1 and found the cottage to be just delightful. It was very clean and well appointed with everything you would need for a few days stay away from all the distractions of modern life. The view from the front deck is excellent and it was lovely to watch the sun come up over the water each day. The owners are very helpful and directions and check in was easy. We will be returning and would have no hesitation recommending a stay here

Gorgeous waterfront holiday stay in Sussex Inlet. Quiet neighbourhood, peaceful breathtaking views. Beautiful beaches, lookouts only a few minutes drive away. We have enjoyed our stay and don't wish to leave...will definitely return.

A relaxing and peaceful waterfront cottage with its own private jetty and walking distance to amenities. Great accommodation to take your dog. Highly recommended comfortable cottage with lovely landscaped garden and ample parking at back of cottage. Sussex Inlet provides plenty of opportunities to relax or be active; fishing, walking, bike riding, paddling, surfing and more. Enjoy !

We loved calm waters! The location was great. It’s right on the water with excellent views all the way across the inlet. we could walk everywhere we wanted including directly down to the water for a little swim or to flick a line in. My mate Steve even caught a couple nice flatties which we cooked up straight away. The “r-ie” is an bewt 2 min walk away and an even easier roll back! The room was super clean and well furnished with great beds and towels and everything else we needed to make our holiday great. We just booked again to come back next year and can’t wait.

Great position and fantastic cabins. My wife, our two small dogs and I were looked after in an excellent manner by way of the communication before we arrived, while we were there and after we arrived home. We will return.

Can’t fault Calm Waters. The location is ideal and the view from Cottages 1 to 4 is phenomenal. We were catching fish of the front Jetty and walking them straight in for dinner. Everything is within 5 min waliking distance including Sussex RSL club and cafes. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. We will be back.

Had a birthday party for a family member crew very helpful. Good food and cold beer with a view of the river . Would suggest booking beforehand as it can get busy.

The new owners Jerry and Libby are so friendly and welcoming. We had two weeks at Calm Waters and enjoyed every minute. The cottages are equipped with everything needed. JERRY LIBBY thank you you are the perfect hosts

This was our 3rd year in a row that we stayed at the cottages very clean all linen supplied ,very convenient location ,walking distance to all amenities ,grate spott for kids to ride bikes,scooters etc and if you have a boat the sandbar is a perfect spot for the whole family to enjoy
We have rebooked to stay again in 2020
