Hayden's Pies

Currently down in Ulladulla for a fishing trip and boy let me tell you, Hayden's Pies is no joke.

I have ordered the chunky steak with mushroom pie and the chunky steak with mash and cheese pie. (You could easily distinguish which one is which in the photo) They were amazing!

Usually the cons with mushroom pies are there is barely any flavour of the mushroom, but this pie had all of the flavours and chunky mushrooms.

The other pie was great too, with the mash on top being literally "icing on the cake" for my experience.

10/10 would recommend if you do come around this area.

Coffee was okay!

Absolute gastonomic heaven. Arguably some of the best pies you can ask for. Flaky on the outside, creamy and gooey on the inside.
Could not get any better than this. Saagwala was a surprise package. Being an Indian, I have a higher threshold for Indian flavors, and this one made the cut and then some.
If you want to stick to simple steak or creamy chicken pies, they won't fail you either.

Usually a queue for the pies but most grab n go so you're not having to wait too long

Bloody best pie shop, ended up getting 8 pies and all were spot on the stand out for my was the special of the day. The goat curry pie. It was flavourful and moist and didn’t lack on the spice which I appreciate.

The pies absolutely deserve the 2023 vote of best pies in NSW. Been pie-ing around for 20+ yrs now, started with his mum and sister and certainly still going strong. No doubt because of the amazing pies served up from 6am and selling over 3000 PER DAY😲 Good on ya!
Visiting for a week we have been back repeatedly for the Franzini pies but thoroughly enjoying the others. (Sadly I missed out on the Wild Boar pies).
We order our pies, sit back and observed the parking and the shop.
Wow, the parking is a consistent flow of cars, SUVs, tradies utes, you name it, slipping in and out of parking spots with such ease. All being totally understanding that they don't have to push and shove or be rude and unkind, because Hayden has got them covered, he has ensured they will all get their pick of the pies of their desire😁
Inside the shop all are very happy to que up to get their slice of pie👏 Some holiday makers pop in for their last serving and a bag of take home pies.
Some choosing to instead have their family pies for dinner 😀
But remember, they have an awesome selection of sweets too, and I'm pleased to say, not your run of the mill sweets either.

Amazing pie place. Couldn't believe the amount of people here but after tasting the pie not so surprising. Had a choice of 4 different gluten free pies to choose from. Went with traditional chunky meat and it was certainly that. Wishing I bought more for another time. My husband had pie of the day and loved it

Had the beef massaman, butter chicken and kangaroo and beetroot was great our favourite was definitely butter chicken then the massaman which had good chunks of beef and potato and nuts. The kangaroo unfortunately didn’t have too much kangaroo in it much more beetroot but still nice.

It's hard to find a well executed pie shop that blends quality, cost, moist but crispy pastry and a huge selection but Hayden's nails them all. Screw Rick Stein, come get your laughing gear around one of these bad boys, you won't be disappointed in this true to heart pie shop.

Not many places do chunky steak varieties where here they not only do chunky steak but they nail it as well

Bonus was the caramel slice, max caramel, not overdone on the chocolate, perfect.

One of the best pies we’ve had anywhere in Australia! A tad high with the pricing but worth it for the deliciousness. We even had to return the next day for another. Highly recommend the chunky steak, bacon & cheese pie (pictured along with the lasagna - pie of the day).

Got the chunky steak and mushrooms with chunky meats inside and also chunky mushrooms. Worth the price. The pastry was crispy and flakey. It melts in your mouth. I also got the apple pie, it was fresh and delicious.

Bought chunky cheese and bacon pie, pepper Steak, and beef sausage roll. Cheese and bacon pie had real chunky Steak pieces and bacon. Very delicious. Only thing id fault was the base was a little floppy but very delicious non the less. Definitely worth a stop off. Pepper Steak was OK also had chunks of steak. Could of had more Pepper. Sausage roll was tasty but fell apart.

If you want a great pie and or sausage roll this is the place. Great range or cakes too.

We had cheese and Bacon pie which was excellent and the best sausage roll we have had in a long while

Great coffee too.

The butter chicken pie is hands down my absolute favourite pie, having tried nearly every one of them. There's a great array of quality pies, the fillings are full of flavour and the pastry is puffy and tasty. Good pies. Good service. Convenient location.

Best pies on the south coast!
Pumpkin feta and spinach is my favourites followed by the steak and mash potato. Delicious. Staff are always great and friendly!!! Worth the drive.

I make a point of stopping in on regional bakeries to sample pies and Hayden's one of the best. Got there at 3pm and many had sold out. Had the beef mince pie. Pastry had good flake and a soft buttery taste. The beef mince was generous and packed to the lid with the right mince to gravy mix for my taste. Will certainly be back early to try the other flavours before they are sold out.

Best pie I’ve ever had.
Mushroom and goats cheese - impeccable. The whole mushrooms are so juicy and delicious.
Pumpkin and feta- also good but not the star of the show
Steak pie - gorge.

The best Gluten Free pies I've ever had! Love their chunky steak and mushroom though had to buy frozen today as others sold out. Recommend getting there earlier in the day.

Hayden’s Pies is up there as one of InDaMedia’s all-time favourite businesses. Any time we’re in the area, no pie is safe, with at least 17 pies being purchased in keeping of the First Commandment of Hayden - “Thou shalt buy at least 2 pies per person.” Our must have pies are the Chunky Steak, Chunky Steak and Mushroom and the Butter Chicken with Mint Yoghurt. If you’re lucky enough to be graced with a special involving an exotic meat (such as Kangaroo, Crocodile or Goat) or any involving a curry (such as Goat Curry or Lamb Vindaloo) these are all highly recommended. Pure quality pies which are delicious to touch, Hayden’s is a compulsory stop for anyone travelling along the South Coast. 5/5 - Seamus, Chief Executive Officer, InDaMedia Ratings.

We heard about Hayden's pies from a couple of sources (one being a local) so thought we would give them a try. Get there early otherwise the line gets rather long. Still, they manage to get through the line pretty quickly.

The pies we had were:
Chicken and veg
Chicken and pesto
Lamb, spinach and feta
Steak, bacon and cheese

They were all delicious! Well worth the visit, as they have a huge variety to suit just about anyone. Prices appear high but once you chomp on one these pies you quickly realise it was money well spent! 😄

We will definitely be back to Hayden's when down that way again!
