Jacican - Cooking school & Food Studio

I first visited Jacican last year—I attended a “Walk Among the Weeds” lunch as a birthday gift to myself. As I keen gardener and cook, I found it very inspiring to have Jaci show us around her amazing kitchen garden and pick produce—then watch Jaci cook it, along with other local ingredients, into a delicious 5 course lunch served with locally sourced wines. I enjoyed the experience so much that I went back to learn how to make macarons, which was great- and most recently I attended a summer preserving class. As always it was so inspiring to wander around Jaci’s garden and her no-nonsense approach to both gardening and cooking is so refreshing for someone like me who tends to get overwhelmed by the often conflicting information you get when you google! We made 6 different preserves and took home a case full of goodies—these items alone would cost at least $100 at a market and you get the recipes to take home and a delicious homemade afternoon tea too, so it is amazing value. We had the zucchini cake Jaci posted earlier, apricot frangipane tart and homemade pasties (so delicious—now I need to do the pastry class).
I highly recommend it a visit to Jacican and will be back to do the winter class. Thanks!!

What a fabulous afternoon I had making lollies with Jaci. Wonderful relaxed class environment with easy to understand process. Jaci could not have been anymore accommodating & obliging. I enjoyed every minute of it, so much so that I went out on Monday & bought myself the silicone molds & haven't stopped making the gums since then. I will be signing up to do more classes in the not to distant future. Thanks Jaci.

Had my inaugural combined Mothers Day /50th Birthday high tea at Jacican in 2018 with my in laws and daughters. A perfect setting, perfectly indulgent menu and treats and delightful tea spread to fill all our overindulgent appetites! great price and wonderful service. love Jaci's preserves- quince is my pleasure! as a keen gardener and cook I love to follow Jaci's pursuits on FB and the newsletter regularly. such talent in our countryside

I have done a Macarons class at Jacican and really enjoyed myself while learning something new from a fantastic teacher with a wicked sense of humour, Lunch was part of the day and the food was great along with the company of the other lady’s
