We had a very nice experience at Ho Jiak. We managed to get a table and enjoy a 3 course meal in the space of 1 hour without the feeling of being rushed. We arrived without a reservation and we were told we could have a table for 1 hour maximum. We agreed if we were able to dine in that time.
Everything was delicious and flawless. If I was to be picky the satay needed a bit more kick to it. But we will be back and would recommend.

My favorite Malaysian restaurant in Sydney!
All dishes are tasty and are perfectly presented. Like the Lobster most, then scallop, roasted duck.
Staffs are also friendly.
Will come again when I have further special occasions.

That could be the best one I’ve ever had!!! Fancy atmosphere and great dining experience!!! With a cup of Lychee Colada as a good start, we ordered the chilli crab and xo butter scallops and roasted duck etc. All dishes were absolutely delightful. The flavors were authentic, the dishes were creative and much beyond our expectations with so many surprises. It truly felt like a culinary journey to Malaysia. The staff was attentive and offered great recommendations. I'll definitely be coming back for more and highly recommend this place to anyone craving genuine Malaysian cuisine!

Yeah we ordered a lot but did we almost smash all of it? Yes, yes we did. The service was SO GOOD?? We had multiple tables and the other table ordered some prawn noodle dish that we wanted to try so the waiter voluntarily went over and took the dish and scooped us some lol 5 stars just for that honestly. Standout dishes was the veggie one with fried leaves, super crispy. Duck was juicy and saucy, king prawn noodles were outstanding

Best Malaysian food in Sydney I must say and the service was excellent! We were greeted by a friendly hostess (didn’t ask for her name unfortunately) and we were seated in a nice table. Our server Caleb was very experienced and outgoing. He recommended us the vegemite short ribs and I admit that this dish was definitely the highlight of our dining experience. I can see why they are the only chef-hatted Malaysian restaurant in Australia!!

Everything in this place was amazing but they were super busy so staff were running around and had to flag them down a few times (not an issue) and it's also loud indoors - apart from that, the food was so tasty, 3 of us managed to smash all plates except one piece of the roast chicken as we were so full! Then we decided to order the churros dessert and smashed that! Haha
We will go back again to try other menu items. Best to go with friends so you can order more dishes!

Visited while traveling from Brisbane to Sydney. The taste was great, the staff's service, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant were all very impressive. If I have to recommend a restaurant in Sydney to someone, this is the restaurant that would come to mind first.

We ate here close to the end of our trip to Australia. It might have been the best food we had the entire trip, especially the prawns in tamarind sauce. The ribs were fantastic as well. I have not eaten too much Malaysian food before.

They promise you what they deliver.
Food and concept was very eloquently executed combining taste and texture into a Malaysian fusion.
Wouldn't come back though, its got a once only wow factor that was nice while it lasted.
Highly recommend the salmon, the laksa dumplings crab baos were too small for value. Pork belly with fermented soy bean was a tad close to kbbq.

After the Banksy exhibition, we had lunch at Hojiak in Town Hall. We had the Char Kway Teow, Mee Mamak, Briyani and Belachan Kang Kong. We loved loved the CKT and Kang Kong.
Though they are more expensive than a lot of other Malaysian restaurants, they are good!

Nice restaurant where I took a client for lunch. They seated us in a side corner of the restaurant to be away from the hub of diners. Waiters were awesome, very friendly and food arrived in good timing. Food itself was great, different variety and flavourals that were new to us but we were happy to try and enjoyed all the dishes. Awesome location across the road from QVB.

Authentic Malay / Nyonya restaurant in the middle of Sydney. Loved loved loved the black pepper Pipi / clams with e-mien and the morning glory dish. The chilli prawns were good and perfect with the roti / mantou.

The restaurant is beautiful, the food is delicious, the setting is nice, and they have a fantastic selection of cocktails. I would recommend trying their banquet menu for two, as it definitely enhances the dinner experience. The service is also great!

Weekend fun with friends at Ho Jiak Town Hall! Their Malaysian Chili Crab is a must-try, and the crispy roast duck is massive and delicious. Don't miss the two-way Kai Lan! Great ambiance and perfect for spicy crab lovers. 🦀

It was our first time at Ho Jiak - Town Hall which was a very different experience in terms of the ambience and menu compared to their Hay Market branch. This was more upscale in every way. They had very interesting entrees, cocktails and even the staple char kway teao had a twist.
