Jane and Michael were fantastic hosts, my partner and I stayed 2 nights in the barn and had a really great time. The breakfast was delicious. Note that you do cook it yourself but that's part of the fun (there is a small BBQ and a banquet pan provided).
The barn was quaint and had everything you need for a nice relaxing getaway from everything. The fireplace was set up for us on arrival and really easy to use, it did a great job keeping the place warm and cosy on a cold night!
I'd happily stay there again
Note there is no WiFi in the barn, which could be a positive or negative depending what you are planning to do there, but I had fine reception with Telstra.

We had the most wonderful weekend at the guesthouse with our family. Jane and Michael went out of their way to to make our stay so special. The breakfast every morning was superb, made even better by the magnificent views. The rooms are big and comfortable. I would highly recommend booking a stay at Capers.

We stayed in the "Billy Boiling Barn" for 3 nights. Walking in the Barn is so quaint with an eclectic styling and fabulous relaxation vibes. Jane prepared the room beautifully, laying the fire and stocking the fridge with beautiful fresh produce ready for an incredible continental breakfast.
The shower is hot and strong, the king bed a little hard but the room was beautiful and warm and I had great nights sleeps. Highly recommend and will be returning to Wollombi. A beautiful little town. I recommend the Walking tour.
Heaps of food places in easy walking distance.

Capers is truly God's little acre on earth. This makes Michael and Jane THE top angels. Stayed a week and had ample time to enjoy the comfort of our accommodation, its surrounds and the superb hospitality of our kind hosts. Bed was wonderfully comfortable after a hard days walking and our room's courtyard so peaceful, despite sharing it with new born Willy Wagtails. Jane is a wonderful, personable cook who deserves a Michelin Hat for all her meals including the packed lunches. Michael serves you generously one minute, gives you great local advice the next and shares a dram at any time. Genuinely found it difficult to leave and hope it is considered a compliment to say our hosts turned into valued friends. We truly look forward to our next visit.

Fabulous place to share a weekend with friends. The hosts are so generous and the accommodation so perfect. Easy short walk into 'town' for Tavern, restaurant, general store, craft shops etc. Great breakfasts each am on balcony. Very special place.

This place was one of the highlights of the trip!
Jane made sure everything was ready for us for the long weekend - fresh bread, bacon, eggs, sausages and mushrooms - and our tour was very comprehensive.
We didn't explore the rest of the area, although we poked our nose into the reception /dining /smoking room - full of history and probably merited an afternoon by itself.
Definitely staying here next time we're in Wollombi!

The house Is absolutely stunning in every way and the surrounding grounds are beyond beautiful. But the real treasure at Capers is the hosts. Wonderful, interesting and lovely people. I would give 6 stars if possible. Even if I never have another event on in the area I will bring my family back to Capers for a holiday because of the all around good vibes, natural beauty of the place and the company!

Stayed in the main guest house. The period rooms were spacious and comfortable with their own en suites. The host Jane could not have been more attentive and helpful 👍 would highly recommend this place 👌

This is a great place if you're looking for a unique experience with just your partner. It's a very well modified shed. Interior is very cosy, nothing of the impression given by the exterior.
The utilities are there if you plan on doing really simple cooking, but the Myrtle is just a 2min walk away.
Jane and Michael are very friendly and helpful.
The only downside is no wifi which is more desirable in Wollombi due to lack of reception unless you're on Telstra.
