We had an absolutely marvelous time in this beautiful place!! Somewhere Unique's name is spot on when describing where we were... And the attention to detail Julia and Nick provide is 2nd to none!!! We stayed at Lowanna and our retreat was amazing. The rooms were spectacular... From the luxury linen in the bedroom to the luxury toiletries, (everything you could possibly need!) in the bathroom, was amazing!!! We were also very pleased at the quality and quantity of the food supplied. my husband and I were given this special gift from our family to have some special time together and we certainly did that. It was a great place to either chill out and totally relax, surrounded by the amazing bird life, or to go out and see the beautiful surrounding area dotted here and there with kangaroos, a variety of vineyards and of course the village of Wollombi, which is well worth a visit... I could go on and on!!! We will definitely be booking for next year as even although I have been to many places and states in Australia, I have never experienced anywhere quite as amazing as our retreat at Somewhere Unique!! Thankyou Julia and Nick for making our stay so special!!

My husband and I absolutely LOVE this gorgeous and secluded stay close to the Hunter valley. We have stayed 3 years in a row and have already booked for our 4th. The food supplied is of excellent quality and the surrounds are so peaceful. Julia and Nick ensure that your stay is as special as the occassion. We can't recommend it enough and can't wait until we are back in 2023

We had a wonderful Babymoon stay in Allawah retreat. Everything was perfect, and there were so many thoughtful extra touches that we hadn't expected. We wanted a couple of nights of complete privacy but in a location close to the heart of the Hunter Valley, and the retreat provided the perfect blend of both. It was the first time we have been able to truly relax and unwind for a while, we really didn't want to leave. Thank you so much

What can I say... the experience and atmosphere is amazing on the property. The cottage is perfect and has everything. Also Julia and Nick provide excellent service and thier breakfast and BBQ packs are perfect and very generous. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I just returned from a beautiful stay. I do not have one fault and cannot recommend this place enough. The cleanliness, atmosphere, food and attention to detail far outway any accommodation we have stayed. We will be back to recharge our batteries in the near future

Exceptional !!!! David n Murray you're awesome 😃-Our expectations went above n beyond! The food is amazing, very nice, peaceful, private n romantic place. Lots n lots of DVDs, just couldn't stop entertaining ourselves. Attention to detail, every turn filled with candles, you just made our Anniversary so special. Every little thing that you can think of, is not only readily available but top quality 👌👌. We cannot thank you enough, we had a great time n very relaxed moment. We now understand why people keep coming back, we will definitely be one of those ☺

Beautiful location, very conveniently located near the Hunter Valley Wineries, especially the Broke region.

Stayed here for our trip to the Hunter Valley. It was a super relaxing and luxurious space. We arrived late on a cold Friday night and were welcomed with mood music, heating and lights already on. The place was so clean we thought it was newly built. It's located a short distance to the Wollombi Village and bicycles are provided. This place is the perfect getaway for a couple looking for a relaxing romantic escape.

My husband & I were more than impressed with Somewhere Unique. Communication prior to booking was outstanding, Murray helped us find a perfect date to stay, to celebrate our combined 60th Birthdays, gifted by our children. We had the pamper package & were blown away with the food supplied & the relaxing massage in our retreat by Jo & Rosey 😄 Private surroundings added to our experience of a truely unique weekend away. Allawah is the most comfortable,perfect place to stay with nothing over-looked. You won’t be disappointed when you stay at Somewhere Unique ... a truely amazing experience ❤

We have been staying at Somewhere Unique for the last 8 years, and the stay has been a 5-star experience each time. The cottage is always meticulously clean and so relaxing thanks to the peaceful surroundings, quality bed and linens, and the enormous soaker bath. Somewhere Unique is away from the crowds, but only a 15-20min drive to cellar doors. Whether you are staying a few days or a week, the cottage is spacious and cosy and even has a washer and dryer! With plenty of places to eat locally, as well as around the region, you will not be short of things to do. We highly recommend Margan Restaurant and cellar door for a long lunch, the local Wollombi Tavern for excellent pub-classic meals, and Wollombi General Store to stock up on snacks for your stay. Should you be looking for something more particular, ask Murray for a recommendation!

Spotless outdoor deck to relax on lounges, or at table, great little Weber to cook a BBQ , enjoy a wine, read or pause to overlook the view.
Unique, Simplistic, naturally beautiful and peaceful bush surrounds.

This is the perfect place to take time-out from the craziness of our world at present.

The owners Murray and David, have done a wonderful job preserving this very special sanctuary to ensure the visitors are welcomed and feel relaxed, starting with the personal greeting at the front door.

Hubby and I really needed a break from a stressful life at present, Somewhere Unique delivered that to us in bucketloads❤❤❤.

Of course, we will be back for a fourth visit and beyond🥰.

Stunning accomodation in an absolutely beautiful part of the world. The food and wine supplied were delicious and I would strongly recommend the romance package and a massage to round out the experience.

This place is awesome went away with friends we each had a cabin we opted for the BBQ pack it it was perfect can't wait to go back very clean had everything you could want loved the bath😃😃
