My wife and I had a great time here and we look forward to staying here again. The rooms are great and the private pools are rad. Great to get away from Sydney for a few days. Emma made sure we had everything we needed

This is sooo long overdue but I found the hand written card left for us on our stay here. The welcome was fantastic, the view was amazing, the room was spectacular. I messaged asking lots of questions once I booked & mentioned we were staying for our wedding anniversary. I didn’t expect anything from it, I was just excited as we had not had a chance to get away since our honeymoon. The personalised nature of the owners remembering & leaving the note & Champaign just touched us dearly. We were moved & remember our stay there with fondness. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I’m so sorry it’s taken this long to acknowledge you guys.

Absolutely love this place, We have visited twice so far and each time has been great this place is quiet and relaxing. The cottage has almost everything you need for a great getaway only thing you need to bring is some food. When we first visited I read the website and didn’t really understand what was included so we did bring things that were already there like oil, coffee and bug spray. The cottage is clean, the bed is so comfy, nice little extras like robes and slippers.
We communicated with Emma and every time we did she was always so friendly the service will not disappoint you.
As stated in the emails the last 5km is off road so it’s as expected pretty bumpy but when you get to the top it will be worth it.
We mostly just had BBQ dinner and lunch but did venture into Cessnock for dinner which has plenty of options.
In pokolbin there is a dessert bar if you enjoy sweets it’s definitely a place to visit.
If you are looking for a nice relaxing getaway far away from the fast pace city, minimal civilisation then Wild Edge will not disappoint you.
We will definitely be back.

Highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway. Perfect place to kick back and relax and enjoy your surroundings. Emma and Mick were really hospitable, throwing in some extra oysters on the seafood platter and a delicious birthday cake to boot. The pavilion was a beautiful place to stay with fantastic facilities that let us enjoy a peaceful weekend keeping to ourselves. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Thanks Emma and Mick!

The best retreat we’ve stayed at hands down!!
We were looking for a secluded, relaxing and luxurious stay and this place had it all and more. Mick and Emma were fantastic hosts and went above and beyond to make our quick getaway as special as it could be. They arranged massage therapists on short notice (we didn’t think it would be possible as we left it a bit late) so we were super stoked! Emma dropped off yoga mats and extra continental breakfast provisions and she just made our stay effortless. We booked ‘Natures Mist’, it had incredible views over the valley and a plunge pool with cabana to laze around on during the heat of the day and listen to the birds and cicada’s.
Meals were easy to have in with the well equipped kitchen and outdoor Webber. The breakfast hamper was amazing with continental, cooked breaky and a fresh fruit platter. Muesli bars, hot chocolates, coffee pods and fresh oranges to pop in the juicer).
We loved being somewhere that felt remote and private but also close enough to duck out to a beautiful lunch and wine tasting or two.
My only regret is that we didn’t book an extra couple of nights and stayed over the weekend, I didn’t want to leave!!
We will definitely be back Emma and Mick!

Want to feel like you're totally alone with a bush valley to yourself? This is the place. Accommodation is top notch and includes a private pool!
We just brought our own food and enjoyed each other's company for a kid free weekend. Pretty much didn't emerge from our oasis the whole time.
The only time we saw the staff was when we organized for them to bring a massage therapist for a couples massage - for a place where you want peace, that's high quality service!

Wind spirit was Absolutely amazing! Me and the wife loved this little retreat with great views and great customer service by Emma and mick, they had everything you need to make your stay a happy one, and let us know everything we needed to know before hand, unfortunately we had to leave early due to our little one being very sick but can’t wait to book it again sometime in the near future to enjoy it for longer! Thanks again guys!

This was a great place for a getaway. Emma and Mick were lovely, and the cabin was perfect.
One thing I would mention is that it is up about 20 minutes of dirt track, so a thing to keep in mind when your coming to visit! It is pretty good dirt road though, we had an intense storm on the second day we stayed and the road was still in good nick when we left the next day.
The breakfast provisions were amazing and delicious.
I look forward to getting away again and will definitely be coming back!

On our drive to wild edge retreat you could feel the bush surrounds doing it’s magic for a restful break.
Wild Edge Retreat was an absolute delight, quiet, magical scenery from our room, with exquisite attention to detail throughout our pavilion. Thank you Michael and Emma for welcoming us with care and warmth. We came away feeling very relaxed.
Thank you so much

We had the absolute best time at Wild Edge! We were looking for somewhere that would disconnect us with daily life to focus and appreciate the moments we have. This place is BEAUTIFUL, the room was divine and the views spectacular! The owners are wonderful and so welcoming, they check in on you and are there within minutes if you need anything but also give you all the privacy you need. 100% would return!!!

We have a short holiday once or twice a year every year but we feel that Wild Edge Retreat was the best! We stayed at "Nature's Mist" because having your own swimming pool was always on my wish list. Because of the totally private setting, I felt like a child again - absolutely enjoying every moment in the sun! All the rooms (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen) were beautiful and modern, equipped with everything you needed. We found the owners and staff extremely friendly and kind, too. We thank you again for making our holiday so memorable!

We have just returned from our third trip to Wild Edge Retreat and it ALWAYS exceeds our expectations. Every. Single. Time.
The bush setting is spectacular, the pavilions are pristine, the amenities are amazing. But it's the warm welcome, wonderful personalised service, and countless thoughtful inclusions that make it such a special place to visit again and again.
Our favourite is Wind Spirit (but the view from Whispering Forest is sublime). From lounging on the day bed to swimming in the infinity pool, to soaking in the spa, to sitting by the woodfire, everything has been designed and provided to ensure ultimate relaxation. Thank you, Emma and Mick!

A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE HAVEN OF PEACE AND TRANQUILITY IN THE HUNTER REGION
Booked this stay as a little birthday surprise for my husband and he says it’s the best staycation we’ve had so far!
Booking online was fast and efficient. I had a little query re laundry, sent a message via their website and promptly got a response via email. Apart from the confirmation email received upon booking, there is another email that was sent a week prior to our stay containing all pertinent information including driving instructions.
A portion of the road leading up to the retreat location was unsealed. Thus, the drive up there was quite rough and uncomfortable. Nothing unexpected as this was clearly noted on the email. But upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Emma, we heard the chirping of the birds and saw how beautiful the place is, so we thought it was all worth it.
Our pavilion (Earth Song) was well-stocked and is extremely clean. We were greeted with some lovely tealight candles, a sweet little birthday cake for my husband, a personalized welcome letter with a beautiful relaxing music on the background. The breakfast provisions were extremely generous (see photos) and we loved the little snacks provided as well that went perfectly with our coffee/tea. My personal favorite was the Citrus Press! I love my OJ freshly squeezed for me for breakfast!
The picturesque view from the deck accompanied with the soft chirping of the birds was just the lovely break that we needed from our usual daily routine. We loved soaking ourselves in the warm pool and how we ended our day with a nice warm spa bath.
Overall, I think it’s the little personal touches all throughout our stay that made this one particularly stood out from all the rest we’ve had before. From Emma personally greeting us when we arrived helping us with our stuff, the personalized letter, the little cake, setting the mood in the room (candles, music) for when we arrive, the little notes reminding us to just call when we need anything or extra provision, up to the recommendations on where to stop on the way back home!
I cannot thank you enough Emma & Mick for helping me make this staycation a truly special and memorable one for my husband! We just cannot wait to be back!
TIPS:
- Albeit breakfast provisions were extremely generous, bring enough food & bev items that’ll last for the duration of your stay as there are no shops within walking distance to the retreat. Nearest grocery as per the pre-stay email is 35mins drive from there.
- There is no laundry facility onsite so it’s helpful to bring a laundry bag for used clothes
- No need to bring anything to fully enjoy the spa bath. I actually bought a lush bubble bar but apparently, I can’t use it there. That wasn’t a problem though because a beautiful bath bag infusion, as well as some bath foam is already provided. Honestly, I think it even smelled better than what I bought. LOL

Wild Edge Retreat was so lovely! I advise driving during the day as it is hard to look for the retreat during night time (no GPS/cell signal in that area). However, if you follow the signs it is quite easy. The area is quite nice and very secluded. We stayed in the Wind Spirit and it was very lovely. We give top marks for cleanliness and privacy. The decor, infinity pool, and bathroom was very nice, along with the service (complementary breakfast in the refrigerator). Overall an Amazing experience! Will go again!

Wild Edge Retreat is such beautiful accommodation, we could not of asked for more and the views were just spectacular from sunrise to sunset. We stayed in Natures Mist and it was gorgeous, having the spa bath looking down in to the valley was just gorgeous and very secluded. The pavilion had everything you would need including very generous breakfast provisions and even Easter egg treats. Alan and Andrew were very helpful and accommodating. We diffinatly would love to return to Wild Edge Retreat and we would recommend it to all our friends. Thanks guys 😊 From Chloe and James x

Wild Edge Retreat is luxurious, private and perfect for time away from your everyday busy life. Nature's Mist's view is gorgeous overlooking the Narone Creek Valley with spa bath, plunge pool, fireplace and beautiful furnishings. Mick and Emma were amazing- and Emma's homemade brownies were even better! Highly recommended. See you again!
