Putney Charcoal

Putney Charcoal is great for burgs and chips. My fave is the Putney special and the Aussie Burg. It’s all freshly made and delicious.

There’s a few tables outside but it’s more of a take away shop. There’s not much parking around so I always go in non peak lunch or dinner time.

My favourite charcoal chicken shop by far. Top quality food and always the best service - greeted with a smile every time. Aussie burger is a winner and the chicken itself is so moist. I travel from Gordon just for Putney charcoal.

I came to Sydney all the way from Melbourne to try Putney Chicken. IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!! First of all, the chicken tenders are so delicious and flavourful. And Second of all, the burger and chips are AMAZING. You will definitely not be disappointed visiting Putney Charcoal!!

I moved back into the area recently, and wow what the new owners have done to this shop!

From the warm greeting, to the service and the food itself it was 10/10.

The Aussie burger was outstanding, the patty was juicy and the salad fresh.

The Chicken burger was perfectly done, beautiful grilled chicken breast, fresh salads and great sauce.

Make sure you get chips with your order as they were the perfect crunchiness and paired well with the garlic and Peri Peri sauces on offer.

Overall outstanding, very friendly vibe and perfect for a Sunday lunch with the family!

First time here and it was a fantastic experience. The lady is very friendly and welcoming.
They have a wide choice of charcoal chicken and plenty of side dishes too.
Everything looked really delicious but I had already bought some other takeaway.
Their Caesar salad is absolutely amazing. Definetely have to get some on the side.

This is one of the top charcoal chicken shops in Sydney. Every time I’ve been the food has been delicious and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Make sure you try the Aussie burger, grilled chicken pack and of course the chips 👌🏼 I’ll always be coming back

I’ve recently moved to the area and got recommend putney chicken. I’ve been there a few times now and the food has been insane. I’ve been trying their burgers and I can’t fault anything. I absolutely love their Aussie burger and burger 88. The customer service is 10/10 and they are always polite. Never had a bad encounter would definitely recommend everyone checking them out.

Really good staff, food is really amazing. You should try the chicken there, they cook it in actual charcoal and the portugese burger is the best.

Best local chicken shop, always friendly and good food

Chicken was delicious and juicy. Wide selections of salads, perfect for people who are not a fan of leafy salds (like me). Burger was substantial and meaty, good chips.

This chicken shop is fantastic! What other chicken shop has this selection of delicious salads plus pastas like yummy macaroni cheese and bolognese? The variety is amazing and the quality is top notch.

My favourite order is the Portuguese chicken burger and the homemade rice pudding. Yummmmm it’s so nice to be able to order a homemade dessert with dinner as well. Honestly I LOVE Putney charcoal- thank god they’re here!

I rate them a solid 10/10. And if they had falafel I’d give them 11/10 but they’re still pretty perfect!

Most deliciously moist chicken with a smoked flavour. Honestly the best I’ve had in Sydney for a long long time.

Love this shop. Their charcoal chicken is packed with flavours, tender and juicy without going too salty. Their garlic and peri-peri sauces are also delish. For salad I love their chickpea and noodle salad. Fresh and flavoursome.

Unbelievable experience, Great service and food. Our new regular. Had the chicken and my son had the Portuguese burger. Definitely didn’t disappoint!

New owners have completely turned the shop around, food quality is amazing and always so yummy!

Yuuuuummy food and really nice staff. The entrance has a slight lip on an angle to navigate with a wheelchair then you’ll need to back out as it’s quite a small space. Staff are great though and willing to take your order outside if you don’t feel comfortable getting up and down the lip.
