Joseon Restaurant

Simply sensational. The staff are highly professional without being too stuffy, the food knocked our socks off, the executive chef was so lovely- coming out of the kitchen to say a brief hello. This is our second time here, and we live in Sydney’s north but this restaurant is well worth the drive.
We visited on a Sunday (the only day they’re open) and with all the Taylor Swift fans rushing to the stadium. The staff at the restaurant were delightful, we were very grateful that they rang and texted us to let us know of the event well in advanced, and told us to book parking ahead of time. It really made for a smooth experience coming in and out of the restaurant.
Now, onto the food. The menu is spectacular, with sous vide oxtail and gorgeous ‘pan Chan’ side dishes, and every single entree were bursting in their flavours. I did adore the prawn with caviar, it was sweet, juicy and tasted of the sea. The meal completed our very satisfied stomachs, and I almost fell off the chair when I saw that it was mugwort ice cream. When we were in Korea I chanced upon this flavour of latte and desserts, but when I came home it was very difficult to find. I felt like I’ve won a lottery!
We will be back soon, and hopefully next time it’ll be for a lunch!

$90 set menu (Winter 2023)
- Poached Tiger Prawn, Pear, Lotus Root with a Roasted Sesame Dressing - an appetising amuse bouche
- Deep-fried Pacific Oyster, Steamed Mussels and Steamed Pipis - I usually prefer fresh oysters but this deep fried one was so big and juicy and delicious. I quite liked the chilli lemon vinaigrette on the mussels too.
- Steamed Korean Chicken Dumplings in broth - my favourite dish!! Best dumplings I’ve had in Sydney in a while. The piece of crispy chicken skin on top was so satisfying as well.
- Braised Pork Ribs with Beef Bone Broth and Banchan - succulent ribs with kimchi with a very interesting assortment of banchan side dishes. The bone broth was so homey and comforting.
- Dessert: Walnut wrapped in a Candied Radish, Green Kiwi with Gamtae Puffed Rice, Ginger Marmalade Pine Nuts, strawberry - interesting flavours in each bite, but I would’ve loved to have a bigger dessert.

Overall: Joseon is an amazing and intimate restaurant. Being open only some Sundays a month and holding about 5 couples every session, it feels very exclusive. I hope they can open more nights so that everyone can enjoy the food and great service!
They have a great selection of unique tea blends (like roasted pumpkin tea and honey pear).
At the time of writing, they are releasing their new Christmas menu.

Superb dining experience. The manager and chef introduced themselves and we felt very comfortable asking them questions about the ingredients. We had their summer menu and look forward to trying their winter menu.
The freshness of the seafood and the sheer creativity makes their limited opening times so worth the wait.

My partner and I enjoyed our evening so much! The food was so fantastic, every dish packed with unique flavour and quality 👌 the ingredients delivered with care and love really shined brightly and we would eat them over and over!
The team here also really made us feel welcome, so warm and friendly. It was a happy and joyous night
Oh and the wine pairings where very well selected with each course, matched excellently and generous 😁👌

It was such a lovely dinner experience for me and my partner! The Manager was so attentive to everyone and explained/ serve the dishes beautifully. The Chef came out at the end of the service to introduce himself and the Menu as well. You can feel and taste the sincerity and effort through the dishes and staff. I highly recommend this to everyone and anyone!

It's my first time I have a fine dining experience with a korean cuisine.
For $90 per head I have to said its worth the prices with the service they provide..
They have 4 different set of menu each year, tonight menu is winter menu and will last till Nov and it will change to Christmas menu..
Definitely will be back again

The service was perfect and the food was really good especially the pork ribs!! Really love this place and their hospitality, would definitely come back and recommend my friends!

정갈하고 깔끔한 음식에 정성이 들어간맛. 맛이 심심하다고 느낄수있는데 재료가 좋은편이라 본연의맛느끼기에 좋음. 자극적이지않고 전체적으로 슴슴한 느낌. 뭔가 평양냉면느낌의 레스토랑..접대도 훌륭하고 식기 셋팅까지 신경 쓰는게 보였음. 처음갔을때보다 발전하는느낌.이 가격대에는 더할나위없다고 생각함 재방문 의사 150%
