Shavans Patterson Lakes Indian Restaurant

Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants we have ever eaten at! The authenticity of flavours and presentation, paired with the exceptional service makes this place one of the biggest hidden gems in Melbourne! We've travelled the world and had Indian food in all the right places, but Shavans trumps! If you like a good Butter Chicken (or as the expats in India call it, Boot Chook) then this Is your place.. we frequent this place at least twice a month and it's never disappointing. With the linen tablecloths and polished silverware, the fine dining service, it makes it the perfect place for our date nights without breaking the budget.

Definitely worth a visit then a revisit.

I have been coming here every year for my birthday for nearly 20 years (since their old location) and can never fault them! Food is great and the service is above and beyond. It’s so good that my daughter even requested we go there for her 5th birthday. Would highly recommend!

Best Indian Restaurant in the region. My wife and I eat here at least once a week as it is our local favourite. Friendly staff and great traditional cuisine, with the mixed grill being my personal Fave. perfect for families.

I went in for dinner with my girlfriend on Saturday night and was incredibly impressed with everything. The place itself was beautifully decked out with a nice elevated view and warm family-friendly atmosphere.
We ordered the tandoori lamb cutlets as an entree, the beef vindaloo & chicken kadai as mains with rice and garlic naan. The food was not only delicious but the service was also top notch. Special care was taken by our server Dipthi who clarified questions we had regarding spice level and her personal favourites on the menu.
Even our host Devar was very hospitable and ended up going by table by table and to ensure the food was enjoyed by the patrons. Importantly this was done in a short and non-intimidating way as you could tell he has a passion and care for the food in the restaurant.
Overall the experience was great and will definitely be back again.

We've traveled all over Australia and Shavan's has by far the best Onion Bhaji's! So fresh, crispy and flavorsome there worth coming back to Melbourne for.
They have a fantastic range to suit everyone even those with dietary requirements like us, plenty of gluten free, Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy Free.
Absolutely Incredible flavors, I think the Salmon Curry we had tonight might be our favorite Indian dish we've ever had!
The service is great, there all very friendly and attentive and when dining in they have beautiful table service and really nice complementarys as well.

My first time here, but won't be my last. The food was fresh, plentiful and absolutely delicious. We had samosa, pakora, onion bahji, dahl tadka, coconut prawn curry, eggplant masala, malai kofta, rice, roti, garlic naan. All the dishes were flavourful, beautifully spiced, just divine!

🤗🤗🤗4 years since I've known this DELICIOUS🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 restaurant. Coming from NZ it was hard to find a really YUMMM BUTTER CHICKEN... Once I've found this place😳😳😳 I've never looked elsewhere. Its close to how it taste 🤤🤤🤤 like back in NZ and my regular to go place for Curries etc. I ordered Butter Chicken, Tika Masala, Basmati Rice and Garlic Cheese Nan awww WAS IT GOOOOODDDD🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤. Friendly 💗💖service as always! Will be a returning customer 👍👍👍✌✌✌

The food was an explosion of flavors that transported me straight to India. From the fragrant biryani to the rich and creamy butter chicken, every bite was a culinary delight. The naan bread was soft and freshly baked, the samosas were crispy and flavorful, and the mango lassi was the perfect sweet and refreshing complement to the meal.

Lamb Briyani and papadum is always fresh. Papadum sauce is better than other Indian restaurants too. Worth the price for the portions served.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shavans Indian restaurant from the moment I stepped in, the aromatic spices wafting from the kitchen set the stage for a delightful culinary journey.
I started with the Kadai paneer , which was rich, creamy, and perfectly balance. The naan bread was warm and pillowy, ideal for sopping up the flavorful curries.
subtle Indian music playing in the background, creating a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy the meal. The prices were reasonable for the quality.

Love Shavans! Delicious meals, especially the samosa, naan and butter chicken. Family friendly restaurant with plenty of tables for eating in and quick home delivery service. Won't go anywhere else for our Indian!
