The most generous and genuine people. Great coffee. There are fancier places around Northcote for sure, but this is the perfect local bakery.

This places new york cheese cake is to die for. Highly recommend.

Absolutely one of the best bakery's I've been to. Service is polite and prompt. The pastries are great, but I love the Chicken Avocado roll. ( always buy a pie or 2 - they are still great re-heated) Tues and Thursday roast Pork = crackling, real crackling!

The team at Phil's are amazing. As a local I come here most days to get my coffee (which is the best coffee in Westgarth). The egg and bacon rolls are so good and they have the best Hot Cross Buns. A local gem which never disappoints.

Best place for a stupid early coffee on the early ride into work. Coffee is up there with best in Melbourne adding a fresh cinnamon doughnut makes it awesome.

Moving day and I needed a coffee at 6am. Google pointed me in the direction of this cafe. I had a coffee and a toastie...both delicious. Many other tasty things on offer...cakes, donuts, fresh bread. 🤔 Next time.
The lady who served me was very polite and friendly, as was the barrister who made my coffee.
I ended up going back again later that day for another coffee, which is a rare treat.
I’ll be adding this place to my list of fav cafes and will be back again soon. Cheers.

The best pies I've found in Melbourne, and my favourite lunch treat during iso!

One of my favs during 2020 lockdown. The smell of the freshly baked pies walking past entice you in. Make your own sandwich - yummm. Decent coffee too.

Went purchase a beef pie for me and my friend. Went there a couple of months ago and had a beautiful vegetable pastie.

First time visiting the bakery and walking out with dinner and dessert for 4 nights....
OMG I saw the sticky date pudding on there face book page and I got one, Well I have never tasted heaven before.. The pudding is so light and tasty and the sauce is to die for...
I also brought some pies and the jam and chutney and will post later...
Keep up the great work you all do and DON'T change the recipe on the pudding.. Xxxx

I find that there is quite a nice range of foods,freshly baked bread.. I love the "Cheese cake" I could be wrong but I think it's call ed "New york"..The man who run the Bakery, well what a gentleman, the bakery is very child friendly....I have a 18yr old son he has Autism..Phycosis. ..he love's the custard tarts..the lasagna...pies..my son & l use go everywhere together whenhe was about 5yrs old & up until 16yrs....anyway we would go to phills Bakery once a mth go in & order the ladies would always treat my son with the respect we all shold be trrated. .they are just lovely...& the owner he would as well.my son won't go anywhere with me anymore but I still go every now & then it's the only bakery I go to a's I do love the food & my son always has a smile in his face when I get home & say I went to philla bakery son & the ladies said hello & gorge said how are you Salton, & in the bag there would be an extra custard tart for my son....for me if my son likes the food, & the staff & boss can make my son smile with a hello & extra bit of food..well I'll always be loyal to phills bakery.....😀👍✅☕🍞🎂☕🍽☕🍩🍩☕☕☕☕

Always friendly, prompt and relaxed service...if there is a better ham and cheese toastie anywhere please let me know....the ones at Phil's are spectacular...their hot chocolates are damn fine also....plenty of newspapers to peruse as you enjoy their offerings
