James Parker Sushi & Sake

One of my favourite restaurant to dine in: Great food, beautifully presented.

Best seats are at the sushi bar where you can see the chefs meticulously at work.

Wait staff are attentive: will ask if there are any food allergies, will always make sure water is filled up - Small things that show good service.

Brought a cake in for a birthday celebration, no additional fee for the cake (some restaurants can charge up to $20 per table).

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at James Parker Sushi and Sake last evening. The service was terrific and the plates of food came out at a comfortable rate. Everything is so fresh and tasty. I love the spicy edamame beans and the little char on some gave a nice smoked flavour to them.

This Japanese restaurant in Perth is among the best. I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar and trying their a-la-carte sushi. Each sushi piece was served thoughtfully, revealing a tasteful progression that harmonized the flavors and ensured an excellent dining experience. I was particularly impressed by the chef's creativity in using seaweed with the restaurant’s name printed.

Had a fantastic experience. The environment was welcoming and enjoyable, creating a great dining atmosphere. The food was not only delicious but also prepared quickly, adding to the overall positive experience.

Had an outstanding dining experience at James Parker, and it's definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants in Perth! The interior, with its wooden circular designs, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The only challenge of the night was to find parking.

We sat at the bar where we could watch the chefs craft each dish. We got the the Sashimi of JP Assorted, Wagyu Roasted Beef Don, Aburi Salmon Roll, and Uji (Green Tea Parfait).

The Sashimi was exceptional, with the Hokkaido Scallops standing out for its rich and sweet flavour. The seafood elements all had great texture, flavours, and freshness. The staff was very attentive, offering explanations for each dish and ensuring our cups were never empty. The timing of each dish was impeccable too!

I highly recommend coming!

We went with our sons and have to say we absolutely loved our experience here.
The food was superb and so very fresh, staff were warm, welcoming and very attentive. Ambience was lovely and cosy just how I like it.
Overall we highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

It was value for money! We loved the tempura salad and the soft shell crab roll. My picky eater daughter finished her Chicken Karaage and rice. She loved it so much!
But I think the real asset of the restaurant are the people - service was 10 out of 10. Keep it up!

We were luckily seated at a table near the chef's kitchen area and were very impressed by how he prepared and presented each dish. Everything was perfect! Hope to go back there soon.

Can't fault this place for anything... Except the parking. Food is fantastic, the flavours are subtle and complex. Service is friendly and attentive. Prices reflect the quality of the food. Great place for a special occasion or a special date.

This is a calm and cosy Japanese restaurant, with extremely sweet and friendly staff and really delicious food!
I've not ever been to a restaurant where each course has come out so quickly but still to such a high standard. I have attached photos of some of the besutiful entrees served.
Absolutely loved the experience and will be adding this restaurant to my favourites list!

Visited twice in March and October 2023.

-Great food in an easily accessible location.
-Sushi quality is top-notch.
-While Neta's sushi is about 1.5 to 2 times thicker than Nobu's, both offer the same quality.
-Price for two was around $270. We opted out of alcoholic drinks but had 2 soft drinks; they were served over ice rather than in a can, which made them taste diluted.
-Spicy Tuna wasn't a great choice, too much sesame seeds and the dried chili ruins the flavour.
-The service left something to be desired; the female servers seemed discontent and rarely smiled. In comparison, Nobu's service is superior.

Beautiful experience! We went on a Sunday with friends and it was really busy. The atmosphere is great, food is excellent, super tasty fish. Oysters had this umami flavor that bring them to another level. Fresh sashimi as well as the prawn tempura or the mushrooms tempura. We didn’t like the crab sushi, too many greens and sour flavor on them. Service was a bit slow with food being served in a long period of time as it was a very busy night and not enough staff. But overall was a great experience!

A true Perth foodie experience… James Parker is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Perth. From the moment you walk in, it is a wonderful experience with great staff and atmosphere. The sake flight is great and good value, the sashimi fresh and perfect, the tooth fish amazing. I love this experience

I absolutely loved my 3 course meal tonight. It was my 3 year anniversary with my Girlfriend and also her birthday in a few days. I absolutely loved the meals we ordered and the absolutely wonderful staff.

I shouted them all a shot of Sake to show my appreciation and gratitude. I will 100% be coming back and I am very grateful for going out of your way to take photos for us and with us 😊

Came here for my birthday dinner and was very impressed! We tried the $35 sake tasting board, beef tataki, tempura prawn with chilli mayonnaise, grilled octopus, volcano roll and the chefs selection of aburi which was eel, scallop and salmon.

All the food just melted in your mouth and it had a lot of flavour so I can’t really pin down my favourite dish as they were all equally as good. We spent a total of $210 for the 2 of us which included the food, a beer each and the sake tasting board. Definitely a little bit more on the pricey side but I think the experience was worth every cent especially for a special occasion.

The staff were helpful/knowledgeable and I found the service really good. They also took care with consideration to nut allergy.

My partner is not a fan of Japanese food but tried everything and he loved it. Only bad thing I can say is we got stuck next to a big table of people who very loud and distracting but that’s about it!! Would come again.

Had our anniversary dinner here at James Parker Sushi & Sake and it was very lovely. All of the staffs are friendly and very attentive. The place is small but cozy with contemporary design. Everything was so fresh and nicely decorated.

Went there tonight for an anniversary dinner. Food was fantastic and the service was great. I followed all the recommendations: wagyu beef tataki, sashimi platter (very fresh and I love their scallop best), cawanmushi (the best in Perth), wagyu uni roll, toothfish miso and Panna Cotta for dessert. We also tried the sake taster for $40. It was all worth the prices and experience. Left satisfied and happy.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Perth by far. Amazing food, great service. Very accomodating when it comes to requirements. Hard to get into in a moments notice so always best to book in advance. I look forward to many more years of great meals here.
