Beautifully preserved abandoned town but now has a cafe so a great tourist attraction( not sure if the opening hours). Has a few camping spots that you need to book but they are lovely especially Settlers Beach.

Lovely little historic place but would like to know more about the proper history there..as in Aboriginal land and stories. Lots of info up about the white history 😒
Apparently there's a coffee shop there behind one of the historic buildings but it's only open at end of week so we missed it. Would've been nice though.
Was a stinking hot day -early March- so all photos are taken from car window in the AC

Great old town. Only 15 minutes off the highway, definitely worth a stop and have a coffee and a drive out to the lookout. Building in great condition for their Age .

Great place to swing passed and visit while around Roebourne, Wickham and Point Sampson. Only 5-10 mins from Wickham and well worth the time to look at. Remarkably restored buildings along with some ruins of other buildings to show some contrast. Nice drive around tour of the town to give an insight into what the buildings and areas were used for. Nice cafe in the town, accommodation nearby and able to hire a tinny to head out into the estuary.
Will be back again and spend more time exploring.

One of my favourite places on earth
Must have been a hive of activity in its day
Beautifully restored and kept old buildings
Loads of history and self paced exploring to do
Art exhibition a must do when on
Boat ramp .... best mud crabbing around
Check the tides cause when the tide is out there no water at all 😂
Lookout is a great photo opportunity

Cossack is an amazing hidden treasure. It is a step back in time and the bluestone buildings have been immaculately restored and preserved for future generations to enjoy.

The caretakers Rhys and his wife have done an outstanding job in showcasing this historical town that was abandoned in 1950.
