A great park and area for hiking. A short walk takes you to the lookout that offers amazing views. Another walk takes you to the top of the big rock! There are lots of stairs but appropriate for most fitness levels - can always take a break and soak in the great view! There is also another path that take you back to towards the entrance with
another great lookout view and walk through the forest! There are picnic tables and long-drop toilet facilities, and accessible my gravel road.

There is a lot to do in this place, so make sure you do some planning and spend some time getting around. Road access is very good.
Have some really good walking shoes and plenty of water for the numerous hiking trails and lookout walks. The climb up to the main lookout is worth it.

Visited the place in late autumn. There is a lookout around 300m from the car park which provides a great view of the surrounding area and is easily accesible. If you are able, hike to the summit - it is a steep 600m hike and you would have to climb up stairs but the view is well worth the effort!! On the way back, go via the Cadyanup trail, a 1.5km trek around the base of Mt Franklin. A bit rough and rocky in certain places but it takes you through beautiful karri forest. Certainly one of our favorite hiking places in the south west.

Loved it. The walk around the base was fun, the lookouts had great views, the hike to the summit tougher but not long.

Well worth the walk up to the firetower. Pick a clear day and you can see bluff and the Stirling ranges. Views towards calcup him. Simply stunning views and a vigorous walk to the summit. Don't pass this up

The Mt Franklin national Park is part of the natural sites in the Walpole area and is around 30 minutes north of Walpole. The road is graded gravel, good condition.
