Mr Oro Sushi Mt Lawley

We tried the spicy shrooms and cheesy potato and both were delish. I haven't had potato salad in sushi before and it was great! Very yum indeed. :)

The staff were smiley and friendly and the place was clean and retro. Little bag hooks on the sides of the table are a cool idea.

There are no toilets in the restaurant but just around the corner 5metres away are 2 toilets :)

First time to here, hadn't planned it but basically stumbled across this place while looking for something to eat before a show at the Astor theatre.
Food was amazing, loved "the make your own sushi roll" concept but the katsu sambo was the bomb, absolutely delicious! Looks like our new go to spot before a show! Will definitely be back!

Of all the Japanese restaurants that I've been to, Mr Oro may be the best yet.
The yakiniku beef took me back to Barrack St 2002, with Mr Samurai. But the mouth feel was incomparable. Salmon donburi was generous and calling it delicious is an understatement.

But onto what really blew me away - the kids bento was pretty big, and the little one ate the whole thing.
Notably, the food for the children was out WAY before the adults. So many places get that wrong - kids should get their meal first. Mr Oro knows.

The flavours are quiet and unassuming. Like a master carpenter calmly sitting in the corner, away from the admiring crowd. It shows, rather than tells, and brings bliss without overdoing it at any step.

So yeah, it's pretty great!

Some of the best sushi i have had. They catered for my gluten free request. They only had 3 options on the menu but created a gluten free tempura crab, it was crispy and tasted amazing. Definitely recommend. Pretty filling as the sushi itself is quite large.

I ordered the crab sushi and the special mango and coriander katsu chicken sushi which was INCREDIBLE.
First time I’ve had sushi w coriander but the flavours worked so well together. The sushi was perfect temperature and size, I could barely finish half of 2 small servings! Definitely some of the tastier sushi I’ve had around perth.

Great tiny place in the heart of Mount Lawley. Love the maki and miso. Always order it when I go to Mr Munchies. freshly made sushi 👍🍣

Great concept, you create your own sushi 🍣 with your choice of ingredients. The texture and taste of the sushi rice is of the right texture compared to other restaurants with soft mushy rice. I would recommend any sushi lovers to give it a try.👍

Restaurant was small but cute & sushi was really good, especially since you get to choose what you want in it :)

Wow what a lovely surprise! Food was amazing. We had the torched salmon 😋 delicious so tasty and filling...worth every dollar definitely coming back here again for the slow cooked duck!!!

The staff there were wonderful! I accidentally told them that I didn’t order something when I actually did and they didn’t charge us for it and still gave us the food - it was completely my mistake but they were so nice about it. They potato sushi was amazing and they did the classic dishes really well. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Cute sushi place where you can customize the exact way you’d like it. The workers are friendly even when we rocked up close to closing time.

Every mouthful was absolutely pleasant. The ingredients were super fresh. Rice was cooked perfectly. One of the best sushi’s I’ve had in Perth. I was being a pain by asking for cancellation of transaction to change my payment, they were still being friendly and helpful. (Thank you!)

Good little B.Y.O spot, menu offers something different than your usual Japanese sushi places. Prices are good too. Will be back.

This is my favourite sushi place around Perth. It might be a bit pricy but I'm happy to pay extra dollar for good quality. Everything is fresh and the sushi they made its different from the other around. If you haven't, you should try it!

Great little place on Beaufort street. You have the ability to customise exactly what kind of sushi you want, and can go for a sushi bowl if you want. Good for eating in or taking away. Sauces are amazing definitely try them all!
