Meals were amazing. I had the bacon beef n cheese pie from the specials board and it was to die for! Highly recommend this cafe! Great dining area indoor and a Perfect outdoor area. Also great to take a walk through the garden and see all the native plants. Will definitely be back.
A wide range of Australian outback type foods as well and local jams/chutney.

If passing through Port Augusta, this cafe is a must try!!

I really enjoyed looking at all the plants and beautiful tiny flowers. It was peaceful and vast and mostly well labelled. The cafe and shop sport some yummy food such as this home made lemon meringue ( which would have been even better if it was made with a native bush lime) and it was curious to see them selling seeds and live plants in the shop, which is a great way to get our natives back into our home gardens.

If you're in need of a light meal or a coffee and cake the Arid Lands Botanical Garden Visitor Centre is a great place for it. Beautiful views whilst you're enjoying your beverage or meal. Staff are really friendly and the coffee is really good. Also check out their gift shop for beautiful locally made items.

We went today (24/09/2023) for some morning tea. Lovely food and nice service. We did go at a very busy time (11:30am on a Sunday) so did wait about half hour for our drink and cakes but that’s expected when it is so busy. Book a table if you don’t want to miss out because it does get busy. Nice cheesecake! thank you.

The gardens are a great place to visit. There are as the name suggest a myriad of different arid country plants. Great parking and picnic areas with drinking water. The Cafe was wonderful. Courteous staff, reasonable prices. Good coffee and they even cut my cake in half so I could share easily. A very nice gift shop, but somewhat expensive.

Definitely worth a stop if in the area. The cafe was nice, food with native flavours is always welcome. The native flavoured ice cream was excellent too, I'd recommend the lemon Myrtle. The gift shop here was amazing, not tacky at all and everything was lovely, be warned you might spend a lot of money!! We only did the highlight walk of the garden as we were only briefly passing but well worth a walk around, even saw a couple of kangaroos.

I’ve just completed a 20,000 km loop from Vic, SA, Northern Territory Western Australia and back to South Australia and this has to be the most pleasurable experience coming to the arid gardens and drinking nice coffee and the best vanilla slice in the whole of my trip. The setting is exquisite, the staff friendly, food and cakes delectable.

Australian Arid Lands Botanic gardens has it all for people of all ages. Those who are botanists can spend endless hours viewing and getting up close to favourite or new species of native plants. They can purchase plants for their gardens. Families can enjoy the sounds surrounding gardens with play Ares close by for their children to keep active. Others can enjoy the resturants delights dining indoors or outdoors depending on the weather conditions at the time. Many native birds come close to the alfresco dining tables, and they enjoy the nearby water features. Overall, it is a beautiful place to visit and not forgetting the wonderful views of the Flinders Ranges and Spencer Gulf.

Great service, coffee, cake and ice cream. If you are not familiar with their offering, ask for recommendations!
Took our drink and cake outdoor next to the small pond and watched all different birds take a bath.

We came to the gardens for a walk around on Thursday, it was amazing. So ended up staying in town that night so we could return to do the full walking trail on Friday morning. Loved every minute of these gardens! Thank you to Port Augusta, this really is a ‘must visit’ for anyone in the area, travelers or locals.
