Turntable Carpark

Great place for hiking. Small parking area. Flinders Peak returns 1hours 3.5km. Beautiful view on the top. Good place for a picnic.

Best place to park your car when visiting You Yangs Regional Park. Hiking trailheads are right next to the car park.

Nearest car park for Flinders peak trek or the east west walking trail. Plenty of parking spaces available but they get filled quickly on weekends. There are drop toilets at the location but they were not very clean.

We did the East West-Walk yesterday while visiting the You Yangs Park.
Beautiful panoramic views the whole way around, you walk around the outside of the peak (not the peak itself although you do have an opportunity to continue to the top at one point during the walk). At the start of this track which is easily marked right next to the carpark, there are 2 options in which way to go (the walk is a loop). We started on the right to avoid the gazillion stairs going up. The start is quite uphill and my post covid lungs did not appreciate it one bit. It does get easier and it's definitely worth it. Very rocky the whole way through, would highly recommend hiking shoes or shoes with good grip. Keep an eye out along the way for the bright yellow arrows guiding you in the right direction. The hike took us approximately 1.5hrs with plenty of stops for photos and breaks in between.
Dogs welcome but must be kept on a leash, I probably wouldn't recommend taking them on this hike, too rocky.

Decent size, but on weekends it can be full early, especially on nice days.
Modern drop toilets, shelter, lots of picnic tables located in scenic bushland, some with great views into the distance towards Melbourne's sky scrapers and Port Philip Bay.

The walks here are amazing. Dog friendly, just hard enough to get some good exercise but without making it unpleasant. Amazing views.

Busy car park if you want ro start walking from the 400steps.i was here early and got a space easy enough but late morning gets busy. There are other car parks if you don't. Need to park here. Fabulous park.

Great meeting place for a walk around the You Yangs. But gets full quick on the weekends.

Great spot with easy access to some excellent walking trails and picnic/BBQ area. Climb the Flinders Peak Trail for some of the best views in all directions.
