I searched for a good omurice restaurant in Sydney and came here. Omurice was really delicious, and other foods felt a little saltier than expected. But overall, it wasn't bad and most of them were satisfied. If you go during a crowded time, you have to wait up to 50 minutes for the food to come out. I recommend you to avoid busy time.

Devon cafe has a number of venues around Sydney offering fine dining and casual cafe food under the same roof. We visited their North Sydney location and found the whole experience to be outstanding.

From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. We were directed to our table, shown the menu and served food promptly.

There is a good mix of decadent, healthy and comforting food. We tried the food on the new menu, which can be purchased separately or as part of their $69 brunch menu (with the exception of “Eggs for Days” which is a favourite sold individually.

We began with some of their classy snacks. The snacks see three bite size pieces of high quality ingredients served at $10 per piece; Caviar devilled egg, topped with Siberian caviar, Spanner Crab Toast, with Tasmanian sea urchin on Brioche, and our favourite, the Uni Hash - potato hash, king salmon belly tartare, Tasmanian sea urchin. Each piece was creative and carefully plated, beautiful in appearance and taste.

For the mains, we sampled the following:

* Eggs for Daze - spanner crab meat, served with soft boiled eggs, doused in hollandaise, topped with Siberian caviar and chives, served on brioche with a side of Asparagus. Undoubtedly a decadent dish and one we hear is popular with diners.

* Wagyu and Potatoes -  a generous serving of Wagyu beef, sitting atop a smoked potato puree, jus and served with a runny egg yolk as the feature. Wagyu was perfectly cooked, still a touch of red and layered nicely over the purée. No expenses spared on quality.

* Scampi Pasta – this was our favourite dish, a fresh egg spaghettini, flavoured with saffron, tomato, parsley and served with grilled jumbo scampi. Whilst this is an expensive dish, it is worth every dollar.

Some greens (broccolini, asparagus and kale) was served with beetroot for a nice side dish.

We also finished off with some desserts, perfect for the approaching Summer:

* “My Asian Cousin” - a lovely soft Coconut and lychee tapioca, Kensington pride mangoes, mango puree, coconut jelly, freeze dried mandarin also served as a work of art. We loved this, especially the texture of the tapioca.
* Their Sundae- they often do a truffle one, but for Summer, you’ll find the Hokkaido milk soft serve with caramelised figs, truffle honey and sprinkled with corn flakes.

What a stunning menu and cafe in all regards.

I love their salmon poke bowl - delicious! I’ve been three times and all three times I’ve stuck with the same dish (and took all three photos for comparison haha). The flavours just mesh well and it’s surprisingly very filling. Service is good - no complaints.

Can’t go wrong with Devon, coffee is usually top notch and if I wasn’t having brunch, I usually would go for coffee.

Luckily we were able to walk in as the cafe was busy, but luckily able to get a table without waiting.

We ordered the nourish plate, which was very generous and tasty. The other dish ordered was the Sheila, can’t go wrong with avocado/toast, but this was next level, eggs were perfect and runny, seasoning perfect too.

I love Devon! One of my favourite cafes! Normally I opt for Breakfast with the Sakumas but wanted to try something different. They had their truffle menu at the time and it was delicious!

Best brunch spot in North Sydney in what is otherwise a desolate wasteland in terms of good food. So anytime we are in the area for weekend brunch there’s only one place we go - Devon. They’ve got a few cafes/restaurants around Sydney and their success is earned, they know how to run a great brunch spot. modern Australian fused with Asian flavors, all interesting and executed well. Haven’t had a bad dish from them yet

The truffle egg sando is a great option if you want to try truffle at a cheaper price! Mie goreng was very flavourful with the fried shallots and fried chicken added extra crunch. Matcha latte was also delicious with a strong matcha flavour just the way they should be. The interior of the cafe is also quite beautiful and the staff were very accomodating.

Ooohh!! It’s my new favorite cafe! ..amazing truffle menu and I didn’t go wrong with these two, so delicious! Perfect flavor combinations! Took my tastebuds to heaven 💫... I’ll be back soon for more and more to try the rest of the menu...

Not sure what people are complaining about but every staff that came by my table was extremely nice, easy going, polite, knows their menu well and ready to assist with anything!

I stayed for much longer than anticipated reading a book and ordered an unusual combination ( watermelon, mandarin and something else ) muffin and iced hibiscus tea.. Delish!

This picture was about 6 months ago so please don’t prefer to it because they may or may not change the menu. However my experience there was excellent. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the omelette was just a delight! Not really a fan of the orange mocha cause it didn’t really have an orange nor coffee flavour, but the pink drink was beautiful. Staffs were really nice and friendly. Personally i’m not a fan of taro but that taro ice cream was very yummy. Most definitely recommend.

Ok this place is amazing! Why have I not discovered it before?! Went there with my wife and for lunch and wagyu beef bowl and truffle omurice omg was heavenly.

The beef bowl had just the right combo of beef, rice, mushrooms and a soft boiled egg. Was just a perfectly balanced umami flavour and the omurice they were very generous with the truffle and the sauce was to die for.

Highly recommended. Definitely worth the price.

One of the best cafes in North Sydney, great food as expected from the Devon name. Sakuma is always a favourite. Definitely try visiting during the truffle season as well.

Absolutely delicious sandos (sandwiches) and mie goreng. Not the last word on authenticity or value, but a fair price for dependable quality.

My partner and I have been in Sydney since Friday morning, we’ve eaten at many different places but this has been the perfect end to an amazing weekend, from customer service to presentation and taste of food we could not fault it. We would highly recommend this place too anyone who is visiting North Sydney to definitely come and check it out! 😁

Really nice to have more good cafes open in north sydney during the weekend. Devon has asian inspired twists on all the brunch favourites like poke bowls and mushrooms on toast. They also have your standard eggs and toast which you can customise if you're not too adventurous. Good range of cold drip and brew coffee. Also MILK TEA SOFT SERVE. ooft. Not really pricey when you consider the range, quality and service.
