Minimum chips was more than enough for 2 people, the largest, juiciest piece of flake I've ever had from a takeaway joint.

All up, chips, flake and 2 dim sims was $15. And that fed two of us for lunch!

Fantastic place to eat couldn’t say a bad word about it.

Good old style fish and chippy providing wholesome food at reasonable prices. No dine in available but plentiful seating in the park across the road. Great value for money.

Just had the best flake and chips ever!
Flake thickest I've ever seen, close to an inch thick! Cooked to perfection. Juicy, not greasy, light, tasty batter. Chips beautifully cooked too. Extremely generous minimum serve.
I never write reviews but just had to tonight it was that good!
Will stop every time I pass through and time it so it's lunch or dinner. I commend you on the quality you serve.

was greeted by the owner , a big friendly giant! who was kind and very friendly - aside from the great service, the fish and chips was amazing, one of the best ive had, the serving was generous, the fish is quality (imported from New Zealand as i was told) , tempura prawn is tasty and calamari ring was decent - and most importantly, value for money. Best fish and chip in the area in my opinion, keep up with the good service and looking forward to one day visiting the Oval again in the near future!

Have used for take away from time to time. Earlier this week had fantastic value for money $14 for a Seafood pack, calamari rings, crumbed prawns, crab sticks, (scallops were round mock/not natural), 2/3rd size normal piece of fish. Large serve of chips - more than I could eat. All were cooked right. Very friendly and efficient service. Never any probs when I ask for my order to all be freshly cooked. (( Earlier in year I had a piece of Barramundi, the fish was beautiful, but the batter was oily and soggy. I'm glad I went back. The Oval will see me more often now. ))

Great pizzas - quick friendly service - can highly recommend this as Heathcote’s number one takeaway food service - 5 stars for local business has our vote. Proud to support Dean & his staff 👍 it’s where the locals know they can get best fish & chips - great value

How good is the fish & chips here!
The piece of flake is enormous! The batter just perfectly crispy, but not oily. And a generous serve of chips. When heading north, on a Friday arvo this is the only place to stop for dinner. It'll keep you going until brekkie.

Oh the steak sanga is just as good. A hearty feed for sure.

Delicious food, good portion size, cheap prices.
Not too healthy, but you don't expect that in such a venue.
Plenty on veggies in the burgers and the wraps. Too much mayo.

Excellent value. Asked for a fish burger which was not on the menu and they made me one and it was delicious. $7! Potato cake also good.

The kids demanded fish & chips on our weekend in Heathcote. The shop was busy (which is always a good thing). Usually f&c makes me feel greasy & queasy afterwards. OMG it was amazing! The chips were perfectly cooked and piping hot, so crispy, crunchy, with a soft centre. The fish, flake, wasn't greasy, and were massive! It was like 2 chicken breasts and just as tender. It was too much, but we couldn't let it goto waste. So full, so delicious, and no greasy queasy's afterwards.

Apparently the local Heathcote Town Crybaby has issues with the wait times? Sure we ordered via phone & had to wait 30mins in a Friday night... just like everywhere else in the world. Who cares, it was certainly worth the wait

After a very hot day(code red) the takeaway was one of the few places open. The Guy was the only one there and flat out doing orders.😮. We had a burger LOT it was really good.We recommend this business.
