Eis Japanese Restaurant

We love and look forward to authentic Japanese food after relocation from Sydney to Melbourne and this is the second one we tried.
With a fine dining interior at first we worried it'd be expensive but price was fair or relatively cheap with such food quality.
We ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Combination Platter for 2 and it was fresh and able to satisfy us! The little Sukiyaki which was on special was yummy too.
Both the staffs here were friendly and provided great service.
With such vibe, food quality & service we definitely will return while we keep exploring our favourite jp restaurants~!

Eis is a beautiful and calm restaurant with delicious food. The decor is simple, the atmosphere is always welcoming and quiet. The food is beautifully presented and always delicious.

The waiter looked after my gf requirements which was fabulous!!
I’d love to see some candles on the table for a bit more ambience as the place is a little dark. (I didn’t know you were open until walking up to door. This may help x ) And some music xx

Awesome Contemporary Japanese Restaurant that also has the traditional favourites. The Scallop Entree is exceptional and Sukiyaki fabulous. Finish off with Crepe desert. Very Highly Recommend ed!!

One of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Melbourne, great for small families or date nights. Eis' menu offers two options - those who prefer contemporary take on Japanese, and those who prefer the traditional. For the quality of food, it is extraordinarily good value. I especially love the eggplant - smoky and sweet, and oh so more-ish. There's also a well thought-out and very reasonably priced wine list. I am lucky to call this my local.

Some of, if not the most authentic style Japanese cuisine in Melbourne. From the wagyu to the sashimi it’s all amazingly fresh. Small venue makes it a very personal experience. Couldn’t recommend more.

I was blown away with the incredible flavours and the very smart presentation. The service was excellent and the meal was very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back and I will be telling all my friends about it. It really was that good and amazing value. My wife and I really rated it! Do yourself a favour, go there and enjoy!

Incredibly authentic, intelligent food, some of the best we’ve had outside of Japan. Lovely owners and really reasonable in price considering the quality and generosity of their dishes (especially their wonderful sashimi/sushi platter). We’ve eaten here 3 times in the past month to show friends, and have always been knocked out by the complexity of their flavours. Can’t work out why they aren’t packed every night. A very special neighborhood restaurant.

EIS is easily one of our favourite Japanese restaurants. The quality of their produce and dishes are superb. And most importantly their high quality in both food and service is consistent. We’ve brought many friends here for dinner as well as lunch and it never ceases to impress. A highly recommended restaurant for those looking for authentic Japanese with excellent service and price point.

We wanted some fine Japanese food in these challenging times so ordered a sushi/sashimi platter, grilled eggplant and desserts from our favourite local Japanese restaurant, Eis. Complementing this meal with a fine sake, we were not disappointed. Thanks again for a delicious dinner!

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Melbourne. Sushi and sashimi that's made fresh to order and an extensive, creative mix of traditional and modern Japanese gems - from crab dumplings to a sublime duck and a wagyu beef dish that melts in your mouth. Authentic and friendly Japanese staff managed by Hiro who always has a smile on his face and goes the extra mile for his guests (we were looking for a specific bottle one night, which wasn't on their wine menu; to our surprise it showed up on the list next time we were there)

We were on our way to another Japanese restaurant and passed this. So glad we stopped in! Had some delicious old classics such as the age dashi tofu and tried some new things like kingfish cheek. The steak was a real Melt in your mouth sensation

The meals were delicious and in perfect proportions for me.
Under $200 for four people is excellent!

An absolute local hidden gem. High quality fresh food with amazing flavours and beautifully presented. Friendly but efficient service - you won't be disappointed!
