Very special nature, water from sea mixed with water from river, did a cruise abd was amazing.

Great birding. White Fronted Chat. Elegant parrot, 54 species in one hour. Pretty windy day, but suspect many days are like this around here. Still don't know what those round plant fibrous things were. Were they some kind of seed or human made, but there were lots. Many fish carcasses around too, not sure why that is either. But the birds love the water and the scrub around. Also, through the binoculars, we saw four seals across the other side, just hanging around.

Iconic Australian river. Great to see how the 2500km journey ends.

Worth the drive over to Hindmarsh Island to check out where Australia’s biggest river hits the sea.
I lot more water in the system than I have seen, but the dredges are still present cutting the deeper channel out

A spectacular show of many seals in close proximity just inside the mouth in really shallow water. Most had one fin in the air and plenty of playful jumping and occasional ventures on to land. An enjoyable beach run but time your run at high tides.

As attractions go, natural ones are hard to beat. I have an affinity with water, so to see where Australia's longest river meets the ocean was a no-brainer. I was not disappointed.

Beautiful views. Make sure you go on a sunny day. If you have a 4wd, you can actually drive to the river mouth.

A fantastic place to see where the river meets the sea! Nice big carpark meant it was very easy to get in and out of with a caravan and the beautiful white sands of the beach were a great place to stretch the legs
