This iconic family run joint has been serving me awesome food since the 80's - it’s hands down the best Italian on Chapel street serving freshly cooked old school pasta. My faves being Penne Tuna, Spaghetti A’olio, Tuna salad and Quattro Stagioni!… just don’t fill up on the amazing bread first… thank you Tim for all the memories and I would totally recommend this to anyone !

I’ve been going to La Lucc for 28 years and it’s been a tradition to eat there with my nephews since they were kids (now men). There is so much to love about this restaurant, but mostly it’s that it has heart and soul, truly delicious food (Veal Parma always) and the loveliest family behind it. Favourite place to eat in Melbourne without a doubt.

La Lucciola is a very popular restaurant facing the sea so it is best to either make a reservation or arrive before 6 or else you can wait for a table in the bar area.
I had the Pancetta was which amazing, crispy pork skin and tender meat. My wife's pappardelle with beef ragu was so good she kept saying wow.
I had the dessert sample platter with 6 different types and while it was good it did not live up to the standard of our mains.
Our waiter Yoga was very good.

Pasta was great with nicely seasoned juicy prawns. Cozy environment in the noon time amidst busy shopping street.

Had a Fettuccine Bolognese which was very nice and delicious. Staff were friendly however the food took a bit of time to arrive. Still give it 5 stars and would definitely go back again!

Nice wholesome pasta. This place is chill. I enjoy their gnocchi. Their mains come with either a fresh salad or some roast vegetables, you can choose which.
They have a main which is chicken livers fried with onions and spinach. The sauce they use for it is slightly acidic for me but it’s good anyway. It comes with a side salad too.

One of the best family run Italian restaurants in Melbourne. Excellent food, friendly service and outstanding value. I love the penne amatriciana!

This is my go-to when I want a proper meal between 3 and 5pm on a weekend... when almost everything else in Melbourne is closed. I love the potato salad, my nonna used make a really similar one. We usually get the lasagna but I've also tried the home made schnitzels and a bunch of other dishes. Can't fault it. Home style Italian food.

Wow … I hadn’t been here for so long and I was so pleased that it hadn’t changed … food and service still excellent … went straight to my go-to spaghetti matriciana and it didn’t disappoint … thank you to Tim and family.

Our favourite place. The veal Parma or the Napoli fettuccine is next the best flavours I’ve experience in Melbourne. Very cute little authentic restaurant

Family owned for decades, La Lucciola is an establishment where famous people such as Michael Buble (I personally watched him devour a spaghetti bolognese with tuna!), sports stars and celebrities eat amongst locals that have been loyally dining here for most of their lives.

An unassuming super star. I've thought twice about letting this secret out but feel like it's a nice jewel to share so why not!

I have been going to La Lucciola for over 20 years . The food is always delicious. If you live in Melbourne, there are always places you rely on that become your regular favourites. ie. Everyone knows where there is a good coffee.
I like La Lucciola because it is run by a family and they all work the front of house as well the kitchen.
They deliver a great rustic Italian menu that has remained pretty much the same in my time in Melbourne which is why so many people keep going back.
Great food that is always good.
Did I mention that they give you free bread and real butter to start with so you use it to clean all the sauce off your plate from what ever pasta you choose?
In a world where every cent is important to the bottom line to businesses, this little Italian restaurant still gives you free bread with your meal .

Excellent Italian food. Tastes 100% authentic with TLC like nonna used to make! I had the amatriciana with penne and the wife had the warm chicken salad, and both dishes were lovely!

All I could do other than stuffing my mouth with the food was try to articulate praises out of my stuffed mouth the food was awesome and definitely worth the praise along with the service!

I had lasagna and amatriciana. Both very delicious and tasty. Really recommend the penne amatriciana.
