Oakey Bears Rugby League

Oakey Bears hosted the "Smokin the Downs" Australian Barbecue Aliance Competition. We encountered great people, organisers, staff and competitors sharing their enthusiasm for Barbecue and an extraordinary sense of mateship for their fellow competitors. The local patrons came out to support a fantastic community event and the facilities were upto the challenge.
The clubhouse bar was also very well priced and made libations readily consumed. They had layed a new path recently from the gate to clubhouse making the trek through the mud less of an issue after some heavy rain.
I hope more can be done on the clubs wish list for further improvements with government support.
