Legit carbonara that's creamy without using cream. The bacon was alittle too salty for me but the sauce and pasta was the star.

Can't wait to try their ragu dishes!

Coffee served was great too. Good service from the friendly ladies as well.

*2nd Visit*
Tried their beef ragu on a return trip. Excellent fettucine (+$3 extra) which was more than worth it. Beef was minced rather than shredded but that's fine. The lady staff manning the counter recognized me for this review for some reason and that gave a very homely feel to this place, its much appreciated. Her service is top notch!

Carbonara will still be my favorite here.

No doubt one of the best Italian food I’ve had in Perth. Generous portions, delicious food. I’m here almost every other week and the food is consistently amazing!

Kids friendly (they have one highchair, and an awesome serving of kids pasta)

Just shed a tear eating some beautiful pasta at Parlapa, tasted like my Nonna's in Italy🥲💓
Simple, affordable, quick&friendly service, and DELICIOUS, this place deserves more credit!
The kids pasta was huge (and the adults loved finishing it too). The ravioli were the best I had outside Italy.
Cheap coffee too.
Check it out when you're in Freo!

Super cosy, Italian restaurants run by italians. Food was hearty and in big portions. Only one baby chair as mentioned by another reviewer. Enough space for about 20 diners so may be crowded at times. Prices were very reasonable. Food was great - the minestrone was really excellent!!

Super friendly staff and the writing on the wall says it all!! Really yummy. The minestrone soup was super hearty and filling. The gnocchi was super soft and melts in your mouth. You will be in for a genuine Italian feed. They have short hours but well worth the visit.

The food here reminds me of the delicious food back in Italy. I listened to the verdict of another reviewer and tried the Ragu gnocchi. Did not disappoint! They just melt in my mouth!
Minestrone soup was yummy too. Will definitely bring back the whole family next time!

This little cafe is very simple, but everything here is top notch. The food is very reasonably priced and excellent quality, particularly the gnocchi. The coffee and tea are both really good. If you are in Freo and looking for a small quiet place to have the best value lunch, Parlapa is the place to go.

Had the minestrone soup with pulled beef and it was delicious! Came with some bread to dip in and it was just perfect! The prices are so affordable for the size and the quality is superb! Home made and fresh! If you’re in Freo come here you won’t regret it! 🙌🤩

Cosy Italian cafe that serves hearty italian food. Minestrone soup was delicious and filling, served with bread and butter. Carbonara was equally great. Spaghetti was al-dente and portion was generous! Service was warm, friendly and attentive. If you are in Fremantle, try the food here and you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic place with authentic cuisine. Soup with lentils was perfect, espresso was strong but not a hint of bitterness. And the price was definitely a winner as well. Excellent.

Have come here several times over the past few years and have always loved the food! Recently we had the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Ravioli with Speck and Potatoes - they were both really tasty as usual and a good price for the quality and quantity. Thanks so much - we’ll be back soon! ❤🤤

So glad we discovered this little gem. The food, coffee and service were excellent and the place is full of character. My partner had scrambled eggs on toast and I had the ragu gnocchi. Both were so full of flavour and just the right size serving. Would 100% recommend.

Service was amazing - atmosphere warm and inviting, food is DELICIOUS. Portion size of the pasta was so incredibly generous for the price we paid. I have never eaten a meal so fast - will definitely be back for more!!

I finished work at Freo yesterday, for forever, and closed my chapter there with a truly decadent indulgence from Parlapa that had the tastebuds singing - they're still in the midst of rhapsodic libretto the day after.

A takeaway container (coz I still had things to wrap up at the work desk) of gnocchi in a creamy grana padano sauce. Well my goodness, if only I'd indulged sooner, this would've been a regular feature and excitement of my working life at Freo. - but maybe good for the waistline that I hadn't.

Small, feather-light pillows, like ethereal clouds, bathed in a rich creamy velvet sauce - sheer and utter decadence .... just purely delicious.

Parlapa is a lovely little venue, understated, no pretensions whatsoever, with the nicest and friendliest folk behind the counter and, obviously, as revealed by yesterday's lunch a taste-genius in the kitchen working his magic at the stove. They also serve one of the best cups of coffee in Freo imo - it's been my regular go to morning coffee spot when at work in Freo for the past few years.

Yesterday's lunch gives me very good reason to venture back to Freo in my now abundant spare time - I'm keen to explore all the other potential taste delights of their menu.

Beautiful family restaurant with the best gnocci. We had the Gorgonzola walnut and the slow cooked beef, both delicious. Thank you

Visiting Parlapa in Fremantle was a delight. I met Ada, her husband Giorgio, and her daughter Martha during one of my movie events. It was when I learnt that she owns a cafe in Fremantle.

Fast forward a few months, I decided to pay Parlapa a visit for a birthday lunch feast with Daniele. The restaurant is super colourful from outside. Ada explained to me that the word 'parlapa' means extraordinary in the area that she came from. It's not an Italian word, no wonder Daniele had no clue about it.

Parlapa is a small restaurant and can fit between 20-24 people. I love the ambience inside, and it was quite busy when we were there on Saturday. Ada's personality as the host in Parlapa really shines through her hospitality, conversation, and warmth.

There was a young man who sat there and finished her meal. He walked up to the counter and asked Ada, "If I were to have my last meal here, what would you recommend?" This was how I found out about Parlapa's gnocchi with 5 hr slow-cooked beef ragu.

Daniele ordered his gnocchi, and I opted for another favourite. The traditional carbonara. When I said traditional, Mister Balzarro cooked it using egg, and delicious guanciale. Both dishes make you want to roll your head back in pleasure. In our case, we felt so relax and happy after our meals.

I asked Daniele about gnocchi because different chef prepares their gnocchi differently. He went on his lecture mode and explained that depending on the region where the chef came from, gnocchi gets made individually. Some will use saffron, some will be served creamy, cooked soft, or harder. I guess in this case there is no right and wrong when it comes to gnocchi!

Daniele said being at Parlapa and listening to everyone spoke Italian made him felt like he was transported back to his holiday in Italy. I have never been, but it was terrific to see the cafe was bustling and busy.

Take yourself to Parlapa if you're around Fremantle. They open from Monday to Saturday until 4 PM. Don't forget to spend some time reading some news articles written about them, plastered over the wall. Maybe I'll even see you around there one day!
