Got to the Sydney fish market pretty early on a Tuesday and it wasn’t busy at all. Actually nice and quiet.

Had to try the sushi tacos and oysters. They did not disappoint! The taco was good, great textural contrast between the salmon and taco shell. The oysters were all great, the one topped with salmon roe was my favourite. Highly recommend!

Love the buzz of this place and the freshness and quality of their seafood. Sashimi is a must with one station slicing them fresh in front of you. The scallops were okay, too much cheese for my liking. King oysters at $6 each are massive, amazingly fresh and delicious. All of the sushi were fresh and very well priced.

Whilst there is plenty of seating outside, I refuse to battle it out with the seagulls while I eat my food! Plenty do however. There's very limited seats inside which definitely needs to be improved. You just need to be quick! Transport by light rail is super convenient.

Platters range from $25 - $120
Slice of Snapper, Slice of Barramundi, 3 scallops, 2 bacon oysters, cheese lobster, garlic lobster fin, king prawns ($28 each), the other prices are varied. Total $120.
Service was fast, flavour was delicious.
Found on the left of the front entrance.
Long, wooden dining tables/seats are found inside the shop - this prevents the seagulls from pestering customers since this is sheltered.

Every year:
- Sydney Fish Market’s iconic 36–Hour Seafood Marathon returns every Christmas, doors open from 5:00am on Saturday 23 until 5:00pm on Sunday 24 December
The new Sydney Fish Market (set to open in 2024) will be located in the renewed Blackwattle Bay Precinct.

The fish market was a buzz. It is hustle and bustle and a hive of activity. The freshness is some of the best in the country. It is very noisy and not everyone’s cup of tea. Definitely a must see and try!

Went to Sydney Fish Market on Friday and ordered Flat Head Fish & Chips from Fish Market Cafe. It was very good - crispy batter and chips! My previous experience going on a weekend was bad - no seating and food quality was mediocre. Lesson - go on a weekday, arrive by 11am and enjoy your seafood in a comfortable manner.

Best battered fish and chips I've ever had in Sydney. Best to arrive well before midday or prepare to wait a long time and fight for a seat

We went there twice for lunch.
Great variety and very friendly service despite to large number of customers
One in our group is gluten in tolerant and a the restaurant staff did an effort to prepare the food separately for this person.

Food was very tasty.

A fairly simple offering. However, I've had some great coffee at times from this Cafe. A little bit inconsistent but ok.

I think this place is great, when visiting the fish market this was the place that caught my attention and senses. It was really good and with a very big menu. The service can be a bit rushed, but hey it is a market! and remember CASH ONLY!
