Nice shady restaurant by an old historical stone cottage. Interesting choices on the menu - tasty and good quality.

Beautiful lil nook tucked in the gardens of Fremantle art centre. Loved the spiced chai latte, and Vietnamese stew.

Best breakfast in Fremantle!!!
Its a big call, I know! But Canvas is Fremantle's best kept secret!
Set within the Fremantle arts centre and surrounded by bougainvillea the atmosphere is lovely to boot.
Great coffee, excellent and super friendly service! I highly recommend both the Shakshuka which is the signature dish only to be rivalled by the braised lamb and eggs.

The shakshuka with chorizo was very tasty. Comes with fresh sourdough bread to dip into the eggs & tomato sauce. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere at the place.

Having been there twice, I can say that both times have been excellent. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the setting is very nice and the food both times were great. The first time I share a pulled beef sandwich and the second time I had one of the specials and I enjoyed them both. The coffees are also well made.

Canvas cafe is a delightful spot for coffee, brekkie, lunch or even just a little afternoon treat. They have a tent that goes up in the courtyard when the rainy weather takes hold, so don't let the wet get you down. Come to Canvas for your cuppa and a fluffy bite of warm buttery goodness served up fresh.

If you are after a vegan brekkie try the amazing coconut yogurt granola bowl. And for lunch the tofu veggie stir fry will fill you up.

Then, have a stroll through the galleries and support local authors at the bookstore, and peek into the gift shop to stock up on trinkets and birthday gifts made by Fremantle and WA artisans.

These are some of my favourite things 💕

Great service. Highly competent staff who are friendly and professional. Food was really well priced. $20 for breakfast and coffee. Will definitely be back to try the homemade sweets as they looked delicious.

Loved this place! Open picnic area, great seating and accommodating, brilliant staff. The food is amazing.

Pros: great service, menu caters to diet restrictions (highly recommend the wraps - didnt know a simple dish could taste so good), sitt at picnic tables or BYO rug, beautiful set up and fusion between the Canvas cafe and Arts centre. Great for families and small kids. Free parking.

Cons: Coffee was too weak for my liking. Order an extra shot or topped up only 3/4 if you get it with milk.

Very quickly service with relatively low and cheap prices. The coffee was very good and not too hot either. Great atmosphere to sit and eat or mingle with friends. I would definitely come back again and it could be a place where I’ll catch up with friends later.

Great little cafe in the Freo arts centre. Their Shakshuka is the best in town.

One of my favourite cafes in Fremantle, the Canvas Cafe is inside the Art Centre and features a beautiful courtyard that leads to the Art Centre's park. It's an ideal spot for a coffee or a brunch if you're looking for peaceful surroundings, good coffee and cakes, and friendly staff. Or if you just want to enjoy a coffee and that book you just bought.

They make a really good cup of weak black earl grey tea! And that is much more unusual than it should be. Also recommend their chocolate beetroot cake.

Lovely relaxed ambience. Food and coffee was great. Had a perfectly cooked barramundi with a spicy coconut curry. They are also happy to cater to food allergies.

Brilliant food and great vibes, the signature dish "shukashuka" (I might have messed that up) was absolutely stunning. A unique and brilliant dish. Coffee was good, all plates totally polished off

Cosy place, friendly service. Indoor and out door seating. The mushroom and feta is delicious, they also do a great coffee!

A beautiful setting for a cafe within the Fremantle Arts Centre. A stone walled oasis of calm, it has a feeling of Mediterranean about it. Lovely place.
