Emma Hohnen Yoga

I have the absolute pleasure of one-on-one yoga sessions with Emma over the past year. She is truly a connected soul. Her ability to tune into what the mind needs from the body, and what the body can do for the mind is next level. I look forward to an hour of her wisdom and guidance each week. Emma also has a wicked sense of humour, she's brave and kooky, she keeps good secrets, she is a wonderful human, and she is my favourite yoga teacher ever.

Yoga with Emma is just wonderful. She helps bring so much awareness to your body and mind through her yoga practices. Physically my body has responded in such a positive way . I look forward to her classes every week , these classes keep me supple and moving much more freely than I have for years .

Some lucky times there is a guide who brings you home to rest in yourself;
out of mind,
and into non-judgemental, observing, grateful relationship with whatever old aches and new trembling wobbles, resilience, resistance, lightness, curious tightness, and sweet oooh-yeah-that-feels-good-gold your body is telling you about on a given day.
And then they encourage you to work with strengthening, softening and/or releasing that.
Emma is such magic.
Every class is a journey I am so glad I took. She checks in with every person and where they're at so beautifully, and creates a singingly warm welcoming nurturing space. Thank you!!

I have been attending classes with Emma for more than 12 months - after having mainstream treatment for an acute and serious illness. She has an amazing awareness of everyone in the class and their individual needs, physical limitations and emotional states. Most classes, I am guided into a deep meditative state while my body is awakened, activated and challenged by nurturing poses and positions. Yoga in Urunga is terrific. Emma's approach is different to anything I've ever encountered before and through it -together with her gentle, good humour - I have overcome years of resistance and developed strength, stomach muscles and a modicum of patience. The class is welcoming of all irrespective of age, body shape, level of fitness and the lack of groovy active wear.

I have been going to Emma's yoga for 7 years. Truly my favourite style and teacher ever. As I bodyworker, I recommend many of my clients to attend. Particularly great for hypermobile people where other styles of yoga are not suitable. Classes as so well held and tailored to group needs. Love it!

There is a magic about Emma's classes. I'm not sure exactly how to articulate it, but I have tried yoga on and off for 25 years and never really liked it .. not until Emma's class and now find myself there 3 times a week. Addicted!

In the tsunami of yogic offerings Emma's classes are crystal clear pools of sanity - a direct portal back into the body's intelligence. Grace, deep experience and humour in equal measure - Emma is a human lighthouse.
