This French restaurant should be more famous as the food is not only top-notch but reasonably priced.
Wine lists are well selected and will perfectly matched with your food. Staffs are friendly and understand the food.

My most favourite dish is rack of lamb which is freshly cooked and the sauce is amazing, softly melted with the meat.
Also making sure to save room for desserts. The banana soufflé is superb 💯.

My family had a good time enjoying French cuisine in La Chouette. Thanks for having my us! We will come back 🫶

Very traditional French cooking in a quiet location. Everything cooked well. The owners were friendly. Souffle was a great way to end the meal, so good we forgotten to take photo.

A surprise from the start, this beautiful restaurant is not typical in its service or atmosphere and the food is wonderful. The maître de is lovely and the partner of the head chef. His meals are excellent and we will be sure to visit again. I highly recommend this rest for a good French meal at reasonable prices.

A super enjoyable dining experience. The ingredients were amazing right from the start. Also, the flavours and combinations of each dish were very unexpected. The chef and owner has always loved food! You can feel it in the dishes. The ingredients are also extremely fresh ~ I even took photos of the dishes for the beautiful lady~ I will definitely come back for my next champagne tasting ~ A restaurant I wanna visit many times ！！！！

Exquisite Dishes that awakened the senses of our tastebuds. Escargot 🐌 (two dozen) were mouthwatering and of course complimented with a fine bottle of 2021 Dalwood Estate Semillon.

The Duck Breast (Main) was cooked and served to the finest possible perfection. Compliments to the Chef and Staff.

Absolutely a gourmet experience! Never had such amazing beef tartare before. Rack of lamb is definitely another highlight of this meal. Juicy and tender texture matches signature sauces. Also they are filling roasted vegetables. Super friendly staff really help us give good recommendations. Can’t wait for coming back and try truffle event menus.

Wow what a feast. I've been here about 4 times now and I'm yet to be disappointed. I tried the truffle menu on currently and it was absolutely spot on 👍. Joy and Francois were super attentive and hospitable, it was such a pleasant experience. I'm already looking to plan my next visit. The food is absolutely phenomenal, I will be bringing my friends here to try it out

Celebrated my 21st birthday here, and the service, food and atmosphere was amazing! Such a special day, made even more special by this experience. The owners went above and beyond to make my dinner special. Would highly, highly recommend!

Came with some friends especially for their limited truffle menu- I had high expectations and it totally exceeded my expectations. Absolutely delicious and was completely full and satisfied after. Portion size was just perfect. Quality was delicious and top notch. Staff is so friendly and lovely. Definitely coming here as often as I can and a must bring for your friend who have not been yet. When I first walked in it looked cosy and cute. Then when the waiter came she was really nice and sat us down in our spot. I decided to order the Sirloin steak, I ordered it medium rare and when the food came it was delicious! So overall the food was really yummy and there was a generous serving, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

My partner and I dined here on a Sunday night. I think we found one of the best traditional French restaurants that we will coming back to.

We had ordered the escargots and the duck liver as entrees and they were so delicious. I found that the pricing for a dozen of escargots was very reasonable.

For mains we had the barramundi and the lamb rump. The ratatouille and the clams that accompanied the barramundi was so so flavourful. The lamb rack was equally as delicious but it may not be for someone who expects their meat to be well done.

Desserts we chose was a classic crème brûlée and an apple rose tartin. The crème brûlée was simple but very delicious and a good size (as you can see in my photo) as I’m used to seeing crème brûlée in a smaller dish. The apple rose tartin was served warm with salted caramel sauce and the sauce honestly complimented the tartin so well.

Overall I was very happy and satisfied with the food, everything was so delicious. The portion sizes are also very reasonable especially knowing that French food in Sydney can be quite pricey.

The restaurant is run by a husband-wife couple who provided exceptional service and frequently checked on the patrons to make sure everything was well. They also had an extensive list of French wines as well where we ordered a Pinot noir and a French muscat that were so good.

We will definitely back and letting others know of how delicious everything was here from start to finish.

Delicious lunch. Well balanced dishes. Can feel the chief's passion through his magnificent creations. Great customer service. Enjoyed our lunch from entree to dessert.

Haven't enjoyed a French dinner like this one for years. The beef with foie gras was gorgeous as well as the snails. The chef knows and serves the best, even when we asked to add truffles on menu items, the chef explained us the difference in taste professionly then fulfilled our requests.

I select Gamey Morgon wine from Beaujolais to match tonight’s food, obviously it is good choice. The quality of this French cuisine is very good, we just try half part of their main course this time and I decided to try drink Pinot Noir from Bourgogne to match the other half part main course next time ! 😋

Brilliant and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed my 40th birthday dinner in the gorgeous intimate atmosphere of La Chouette. We did have to ask for tap water a few times, but other than that it was all sensational. A hidden gem with outstanding traditional French food with stunning fresh produce in a gorgeous cottage. BYO Tuesday to Thursday is a hit also for those who would prefer to splash out on food!
