Not Bread Alone Restaurant & Cafe

They had a soft opening on Friday, we went there for dinner and had a great time. The cuisine is simple but delicious. Mostly skewers served with rice.

Meat, chicken, fish and prawns. Every item was delicious and tender. The rice is so good you could eat it by itself( had 3 bowls myself)

The place is in a corner near pacific Hwy, which is amazingly quiet considering how close it is to the main road. There is an undercover garage in Nicholson st behind it with 2 hours parking.

Great place for a quiet dinner with friends.

I ordered the sticky date pudding and bread & butter pudding (2 of his favorite desserts his mum used to make on special occasions) for my husband’s birthday. The restaurant didn’t have the bread and butter available so had their chef make it fresh for him for this special day! 😍🙏❤ plus the extra desserts delivered! Thank you!

A long standing staple of St Leonards, I’ve been coming here every now and then for the past 20 years. They are famous for their ricotta hotcakes with passionfruit butter (only other cafe that does this in Sydney is Bills). Their dinner options are even better, think of hearty home cooked meals like lamb shank, roast chicken with sticky date pudding.

I have always enjoyed the food! Ricotta pancakes all day! Reliably good food every time! Large portion size, great value AND great tasting coffee. Food quality is up there with the best of Crows Nest. Speedy staff and friendly staff.

Old school menu with traditional favourites like steak sandwiches and burgers and the best chips I have had in years.

Great coffee and the owners haven’t priced gouged everyone like other cafes, as they haven’t followed the media’s self fulfilling prophecy of hyperinflation.

Best quality and value cafe in the area. It’s always busy for a reason.

Wonderful coffee roasted in-house, and freshly baked muffins, also made on site. Very friendly staff.

Eggs Benedict with salmon was great. The bacon and eggs were very good also. However, if you're American, it's not like our bacon, more like Canadian bacon, but very, very good.

I shouldn't have waited that long to try this place . For years leaving in the north shore. This one hidden gem . From cute outfit to rustic style food and amazing hospitality experience from the old school of being the REAL hospitality. A menu covering all the classical dishes made in house. The food is heart warming as is the host / owner . A well oil machine who will content your appetite, your soul and won't flat your wallet . If you are short of Christmas gift idea , get a voucher from them , you will please a loved one for sure.

The longest running Cafe I know of, I have been a customer here for over 20 years. Friendly staff and good coffee and breakfast wraps.

Great place either a quick bite or a relaxed long brunch/lunch!!! We ourselves usually come here for the latter.

We love Not Bread Alone. I bring my girls here for dates and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We've also been buying our coffee beans here for the last ten years. Great local Cafe.

Sunday brunch - excellent food, reasonable prices, friendly service. Appreciated the colouring book and markers which were offered for our toddler too.

Best breakfast in Crows Nest. Service was outstanding. Kids menu,lunch menu, breakfast all day.

Lovely place to go for breakfast.
First impressions is that it is small but uses space well and is very inviting with lots of different seating options. Staff are very pleasant. Service is quick. Food, I had bacon benny, is delicious and coffee very good. Highly recommended.

I had a delicious lunch with friends recently. We hadn’t seen each other for over 2 years and the lovely lady/owner let us stay at the outside table after closing and even left us a bottle of water. She said she loved hearing our laughter and we didn’t need to leave. Such a lovely gesture and we were all impressed and grateful.
