We had an excellent dinner here while passing through Chillagoe for a few nights. Great honest Aussie pub food! Big portions, generous with the gravy and freshly made. Also a very popular locals drinking hole on Friday night.

Come regularly, love this place. Very friendly people. It is always great to come back and leave our mark 😄

From the second we walked into the bar we were made to feel welcome, hospitality as it should be. Thank you Sam for your service and lovely manner. Great country pub, highly recommended. We got to meet a couple of locals as well, Ash and Scott were great company...if you look carefully at the calendars above the bar you might see a "naked" Ash. ...All in good taste and raised money for a great cause.

Stopped in for lunch today, beautiful pub. The Publican was a lovely bloke, delicious burgers and nice cold schooners what more could ya want. 👍

They say there is no such thing as free beer but go to the Post Office Hotel in Chillagoe, North Queensland and this myth will be proven to be false. Every drink you buy on Sunday between 6.30 to 7.30pm, you get to roll a dice and if you roll an even number, the drink is free, if you roll an odd number, you just pay the normal price for your drink. Great Northern Original schooners are only $5.80 too. How good is that. Such a great country pub with heaps of history. The walls are all adorned with the names and autographs of previous customers and you could spend hours reading them and looking at all the rest of the history in this amazing hotel. Donna behind the bar was so helpful. She provided us with so much good local information and there was even free pizza during the Sunday dice roll happy hour. You can tell how popular the pub is as it was packed with locals for the Sunday happy hour. All the guys from the local mining operations were there and we could tell it was a traditional thing to do for the Sunday afternoon session. They also do amazing work raising money for the Royal Flying Doctor service and the local Progress association. They have all sorts of things for sale to help these very worthwhile organizations. Animals are not welcome but there is a nice pool table and great beer garden and front verandah to drink on. They don't do meals on Sunday and some other times, so pick the right time if you want a meal. A must visit pub if you are in Chillagoe, North Queensland.

A must when visiting beautiful Chillagoe. The owner, Donna, is really helpful and friendly and the food excellent - you must try the 700g Wagu rump steaks! While in Chillagoe, be sure to see the amazing balancing rock and the old smelter. A refreshing dip in the local river is a great experience too.

Had lunch here today. Great pub and great atmosphere. It was quite at lunch but I bet it rocks at night. Had burgers, very good.!

The post office hotel was a nice pub to visit. The drinks are cold and reasonably priced. The counter meals have been great. The staff are friendly and helpful.

It's a lovely place, the owner is so friendly and warm like all the people that works there, I feel like home and the food it's good and the soda too, and they have a wall for all the visitors so if u come in, write your name on it. They have chairs on the outside too, and aircon something's that u really appreciate in here
