I am in my 70’s and had been dealing with a small prolapse for several years . I tried to fix my problem by seeing and working with a pelvic floor physiotherapist ... that did not work and my prolapse became quite large and protruding ... I ended up having surgery by a Senior Sydney urogynaecologist ... initially it appeared successful only for it to return after 2 months ... the surgeon indicated that it was not due to anything he had done wrong but that it was ‘a different prolapse’ .. he suggested I should also obtain another opinion ... I went along to another Senior Sydney urogynaecologist who ran some Urodynamic tests but was not sure what was the best procedure for me going forward .. he thought maybe tablets, pessary, surgery ... but was hesitating, that’s when I felt I had to reach out for a third opinion ... doing some research I found Professor Haylen ... after examining me he immediately made a decision that my situation was becoming urgent ... by this time my bladder had collapsed and I was retaining high levels of urine ..I was operated on within days ... it’s now 6 months and I feel great and wish I had consulted Professor Haylen initially as I feel I would have avoided much anguish and stress.
I feel confident and grateful under his care..

Professor Haylen changed my life. I was suffering in silence and shame with pelvic prolapse and incontinence. He listened to everything I said, advised me on the best course of action. The operation was a success. It was a positive experience and his postop follow ups were great. Professor Haylen is brilliant but a big thank you goes to his nursing staff and office staff. I had testings done and was told my surgery was needed.

Professor Haylen has not only restored my pelvic floor and my bladder, he’s restored my self-esteem and confidence. I’d been afraid to seek help for my prolapse for years till it reached the stage it was all falling right out. Professor Haylen was very understanding and supportive despite my coming when things were bad. He assured me that no matter how bad the prolapse, everyone ends up looking back to where they were in their twenties after surgery. He was right. He had to do testing to work out how my bladder was functioning. The surgery wasn’t too uncomfortable.
Professor Haylen gives you confidence. He is very attentive and caring. He has a great team working with him. I can now get back my life.

Professor Haylen was recommended to me by two of my girlfriends who had seen him for different pelvic floor problem They'd had such good results I decided to see him too. He had a very friendly and caring manner and explained the procedure to me in detail. Having now recovered from a pelvic floor repair I'm delighted with the outcome. Prior to surgery neither my bladder or bowels worked properly. Now I'm so much more comfortable and feel normal again. Also his staff were very helpful and kind throughout.

My experience with Professor Haylen and his highly professional staff was excellent. Professor Haylen was very pleasant and clearly very knowledgeable. He tested my bladder before explaining the different options for my urinary incontinence. I chose surgery which was pretty non-invasive. I returned to see him 8 days after the operation totally dry, able to cough and sneeze without any leakage. It’s going to make a huge difference to my life. I cannot recommend enough Dr.haylen, he patiently listen to what patience tells him, and he always had smile on his face, his profession of knowledge gives you trust for him.

The receptionist was extremely rude. She was reluctant to answer basic questions before booking an initial appointment. She also took another call while i was on the phone with her. Our call was 8 minutes. I called back to reschedule my booking and she declined to speak with me because "she cant spend anymore time on the phone with me" and hung up before i could say anything. I called back to call out the inappropriate behaviour and to confirm the appointment had been moved, however she did not pick up the phone. Stay away people! 🙂

By far one of the worst experiences. The doctor and his staff were difficult and unprofessional. The doctor tried to push us into doing a surgery but then didn't have the patience to explain to us the implications of not doing the surgery. We were then billed for this unhelpful experience when we were eligible for billing under healthcare and then when I tried to call about this billing it went to 3 or 4 different centres and I had to explain the issue over and over again. I would definitely not be going back.

I was literally sobbing in front of this doctor, asking for help with my chronic cystitis and he didn’t even acknowledge my crying, nor even look up or console me. Just continued writing as if I wasn’t there. Zero empathy, an old and jaded doctor who isn’t interested in hearing about new treatments or helping complex cases. So disappointed, I never went back. Stay away!
