Great experience, very friendly staff. Rooms were very clean and well presented, maybe getting a bit dated, but it didn't affect our experience. Amenities were all spot on. Thank you for a great experience.

This is a unique hotel within a unique resort. In so many ways it is a perfect match. The partnership between the Aboriginal community, government, and hotel funders is a great example for other organisations. In some ways, with its isolation, it felt like a bubble in the desert.
And it is a pathfinder in sustainability.
That all said it is a great hotel, with especially friendly staff and a special mention to those at reception who were always cheery and most helpful.
The room was spacious and well appointed. A most comfortable bed too.
We loved the pool though hard to get a sun lounger in the shade!

I’m not usually a hotel person since I’m more on a hostel budget most of time so you’ll have to take my opinion with a grain of salt. I treated myself to a stay at the Lost Camel over the holidays as I was able to catch a sale. And it was totally worth it for what I paid. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was tidy and comfortable, the pool was fantastic and the location is great as it is very close to the IGA. The staff were friendly. I will miss how relaxed I felt there, taking long naps after getting back from seeing the sunrise and spending my afternoons at the pool.

The room was really nice and enough for 2. No balcony's on any of the rooms. TV channels where spotty but you don't go there for the TV.

Best service and friendly staff. Nice hotel to stay during your visit to Uluru. Clean rooms and they make the beds every day. Central location for all tours and next door of Market. Highly recommended.

I stayed here and it was used to visit Uluru. I should also point out you need to buy a pass to enter the national park.

I have stayed here twice now and love this hotel!

The staff are friendly, it has the best location out of all the hotels in Ayers Rock resort, right next to the main square and it is always clean and tidy.

The only ‘downside’ is that your tours do not pick you up outside, you have to walk to Sails in the Desert. This is literally a 2 minute walk though so no real issue.

The fact that it has a pool is also a real selling point as most of the other accommodation does not.

I would recommend stuffing something under the crack in the door to stop any critters coming in to your room! We had no issues anyway but we did this and it made us feel better!

I am not sure if I will ever visit Ayers Rock Resort again in the future, but I do know this is where I will be staying if I do!

Very nice, clean hotel with a swimming pool helpful and kind staff, we could leave our luggage before leaving to airport and enjoy village. The room included everything what we needed: small fridge, tea and coffee, basic cosmetic, comfortable bed, extra blanket, bathroom and toilet are separate what was useful.
There aren’t classic widows, however with the light glasses, that was completely fine.

Great facilities and cosy rooms. Very close to the town square and IGA, local cafes.

We stayed for 5 nights. Fantastic location, close to IGA, restaurants and bus pick up. Rooms are great for the price, small fridge, tea and coffee making, couch, TV. We were near a great little court yard and a short walk to the Town Square. Bed made daily and tea and coffee topped up. Fridge was too cold, it froze our milk, we tried to turn it down (minor inconvenience) highly recommend if you get cheap flights and want to visit this amazing part of Australia on a budget. We didn't use the pool, but it looked fabulous.

We had a great stay at the lost camel during our Uluru trip. The room was clean and is big enough for two. It has a tv, airconditioning and a kettle. It is the one of the cheapest option you could find in the Ayers Rock resort, yet closest to all the amenities. The local IGA is right next door, so is the town square with all the eateries and shopping. The hot water may not seem to work all the time but the trick is to give it some time. Also, the hot water seems to be solar system so take showers during day time may be?

This hotel has the most comfortable beds I've had in a hotel in a very long time.
Rooms are definitely cleaned, with great cool air conditioning, can be a little noisy but it didn't bother me.
The frosted glass windows behind the vanity allowed lots of natural light.
Ayers Rock is heavily popular for its sunrises and sunsets, lots to see and do. Take an eye mask if you like a longer sleep in.
Look outs are easily accessible from the hotel.
The bus service between the hotels is really good.
The pool was surprisingly very refreshing and a bit cold for me, but my hot and swollen feet welcomed this.
Restaurants and IGA all within walking distance.
The Main square behind this hotel open at 8am, so if your looking for an early coffee bring your own or head to Sail.

A really comfy bed and great air conditioning. The best thing about the hotel is probably the pool and the location, the rooms whilst they’re comfortable they are definitely not luxury, but given you’re spending most of your time either at the pool or on the Uluru tours, it wasn’t really relevant. our room had twin beds, TV, little fridge so that we could cool some of the cans of drink which we purchased from the local IGA. There’s a kettle with a tea and coffee station, shower, toilet and sink - everything you need for a stay. Your location is two minute walk from sails in the desert where you get picked up for most of the tours, and a two minute walk from the town Square, where the cafes and IGA are and other local shops . highly recommended

Positives: Well laid out hotel, clean and spacious rooms and proximity to town centre is unparalleled. A nice pool with many relaxing sun beds. Everything was a quick walk and it gives a comfortable Ayers Rock Resort Experience.

Negatives: borrowed light in the rooms, no windows or view, the doors let in a lot of noise from the corridors. At $400 a night it’s mid-level price for the resort and you pay for proximity and comfort, not aesthetics or details. It’s definitely over priced compared to city hotels but the resort is a monopoly and sets it’s own price for the tourists.

Rating given for comfort and ease, not counting negatives mentioned as they didn’t impact my trip and I saw what else was on offer at the resort and this was still the best, all things considered.

For a 3 star hotel the room was really nice. For me this is more like a 4 or 5 star hotel. The pool also looks really good.
Everything is very modern and nice.
Also I would recommend to choose a hotel in this area because the town hall, the supermarket and the restaurants are in this area. They offer different tours which you can book in the town hall and there are also different courses offered for free. Like a painting course or a didgeridoo course and you can also go into the art museum for free.
It's very touristic but nice.
There are no taxis in this area. Of course you can walk but it's really hot there.

I was a little nervous staying at this hotel but i was pleasantly surprised! Friendly staff, close to the town square and my room was fantastic! Room 211 had 3 windows a couch ,king bed and what seemed liked an esuite with large walk in shower. Even the rooms with no windows looked nice! I got a very good deal so i was extremely lucky.
Highly recommended 👌

People need to read the check-in details; don't complain if you show up after reception at Lost Camel closes and you need to go to Sails to check-in.

Reception were wonderful and helpful to a fault.

The room was pleasantly spacious, huge bathroom which has a window that winds out for fresh air.

Air con fan is a bit loud, but aren't they all everywhere?
We turned off the aircon and just had the window open.

Room was clean and bright; bed was very comfy.
And soundproof with solid concrete block walls.

The cleaning staff were very lovely and helpful with the odd top ups. We only stayed 3 nights in July and didn't require any room servicing.

The centre of the town with IGA and post office etc (hotel group makes up the town) is just behind Lost Camel.

Free shuttle airport pickups and dropoffs at Sails (50m away) for Lost Camel.

My sister and I had a very pleasant stay and would like to pass on our thanks to the staff at Lost Camel and Sails' reception.
