Dr Giri Prabhala

I have been suffering from endometriosis for over an year, seen an Obgyn and been still suffering although undergone a procedure. I decided to see another specialist and thats when i met Dr. Giri Prabhala garu. Having met Dr. Giri Prabhala was the best decision in my life. She is not only extensively knowledgable but also a very friendly and compassionate person. I am very happy and grateful to her.

I had Dr Giri as my obstetrician for my first baby. She is so knowledgeable, clear and friendly. I have so much confidence in her. Highly recommend her!

At first she seemed pretty interested and I thought that I finally found a good doctor. Then she convinced me that I need to do an ultrasound that was 500 bucks (apparently she gets a commission from it or something). I didn’t actually need this ultrasound but she convinced me that everything can be serious and we need to check me. After an ultrasound didn’t show anything, she said “Well, you can just start taking contraceptive pills and everything is going to be ok”. After taking pills I started getting very depressed and suicidal and I think that’s partially her fault because she never asked me about my mental health before prescribing pills. I couldn’t recognise myself, my feelings to my boyfriend changed and it was awful.

Overall I didn’t feel like she cares about me. And yes, you can sit and wait for her longer than one hour

Had a really bad experience here. Dr Prabhala was condescending, rude and dismissive of me and my reasons for visiting her. I am young (early 20's) and she made judgmental comments about my personal circumstances when I was speaking to her that made me feel she wasn't taking me seriously. She also answered her mobile phone in the middle of diagnosing me, didn't apologise, then said 'what was I saying' once she hung up. When you're paying so much money to see doctors for sensitive issues you hope you're going to get one that actually cares. I now have had to find another gynaecologist that will actually help me and give solutions that work instead of 'I don't know what's wrong but take over the counter meds and come back in the new year'. She was also very rude to her staff which is unfortunate because the reception staff were so lovely. Don't come here.

*Update*
I have now seen a new doctor who is treating me for potential endometriosis. This personal process could have started months ago if Dr Prabhala had of taken me seriously.

*Update again*
It’s been two years since seeing Dr Prabhala and I have now been diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis. Anyone fighting this illness knows how medical gaslighting affects them and thanks to Dr Prabhala’s consult I’m forever scarred by how her interaction delayed my diagnosis and discredited my symptoms.
