I absolutely love the place! For a book lover it's a complete paradise, you get to read your favourite book in peace and enjoy the food and drink. The staffs are friendly and courteous. They have a restrooms inside so you won't need to worry, parking can be a bit difficult and the flies can be everywhere but all in all the experience was great. Looking forward for their open nights. I will surely be back again!

Perhaps my favorite bookshop in Sydney. Such a great place. It felt like a home.

Tuesday nights at Sappho Books, Cafe & Bar they hold an open mic for performers, be it music, poetry and/or anything resembling a ‘performance’. Just turn up half an hour before show time and put your name down. Usually you will get a spot, however occasionally the performers can outdo the spots so it’s first come first served. Friendly and warm environment with staff who are chilled out to the max and eager to give everyone the opportunity to perform. Bar food and a substantial restaurant style food. Prices are within reason and the bar serves the usual suspects at regulated prices. Great outdoor seating under the stars with trees and sparkling Christmas lights to set the arty mood. Small space that provides the vibe of a tight knit artistic orientated patrons. Fun evening and very easy to access from downtown Sydney. Regular bus service to and from downtown. Great place for a first date! Charming and smooth as glass.

The most stunning, calming, beautiful old bookstore/cafe. Whenever I enter it I am instantly relaxed and immersed in the world of all the old books. Delicious drinks and a kind cat makes the whole experience even better.

Great black coffee, cozy backyard, and incredible vibe. Such an amazing book collection , I can spend there hours .

Amazing place, we felt like immersed in another world, forgetting about being in a place with millions of people around. The Chai latte was very delicious and priced very fair. Definitely worth a visit as there are many cool book as well :D

Cute bookstore, friendly staff, good selections of books. I got a preloved novel for $12.

We went during the day on a weekend, and it was such a cute little bookshop. Love the variety and love that its second hand!! The atmosphere is so home-y and comfortable, and the cafe out the back is very nice. It is multistorey and in an old building, so there are accessibility issues (lots of steep stairs), but that is beyond what the owners can help. The resident cat is very cute too.

Came here a few years ago. Adored it then. Obsessed with the cat and vegan menu and multi-storied book collection. Am coming to Sydney again this weekend (from Brisbane) and cannot wait to visit again.

Love this bookstore and cafe. Great food options including for vegetarian and vegans. Can always find something new/unexpected in the bookstore. Must say hello to the bookstore cat!

Food has always been good and I've been going to Sapphos for over 5 years. They serve Toby's Estate beans which is nice. Great atmosphere and they have board games like chess to incorporate into your social time which I like. I would definitely describe myself as a loyal customer. Their selection of books is always interesting.

This coffee shop is tucked in behind a bookstore. You put your order at the counter then they will bring them to you. Such a beautiful atmosphere with good mocha and iced chocolate. We didn't have anything to eat but will definitely come back to try their food.

Having recently returned to Sydney after 9 years in Newcastle, I'm glad to have found a new Bookstore Cafe to visit.

This place is a great place to go and relax, have a sip of coffee and read a book. Great vibe, a funny cute cat hangs around, there's some really good food here. Looks great inside. Would come again.

Such a nice energy here. Quiet atmosphere with chilled music, even on a Saturday I expected it to be more chaotic. I got the vegan and gf falafal wrap which arrived quickly and tasted beautiful ♥

This place is a gem! Came by after our local guide recommended this and I spent a quiet afternoon here looking through the second-hand books (generally priced 12-20 per book, at least those k looked at), snagging a total of 4 books (despite being a tourist) and having a late lunch at the wonderful patio at the cafe behind. I had the yoshimoto banana. (Banana bread with ricotta, fruits and honey) It tasted good and was definitely filling enough.

Visited this bookshop/cafe for the first time recently and I was not disappointed! They had a really great range of books, and my breakfast was amazing! The coffee with my breakfast was that good I even grabbed a second one before leaving which I have never done before! The staff were super friendly and service was quick.

I can’t wait to come back!!
