Can I be mayor of this town? Who wants to fund a new “Green” city in Greenough? :) I’m serious. I need out of this hell hole called usa. I have too many good ideas to not help create a community around them. Ryan Greenough for Mayor! @Rgreen2091

Was great. My boss is the great grandson of the land donor.

St James Church at South Greenough is of cultural significance for the following reasons:

The building is the oldest surviving church within the Anglican Diocese of North West Australia.

The church is the only surviving example of a church in the Victorian Romanesque style in the Midwest region.

The church remains a well conserved example of a simple rural church built in the Victorian Romanesque style.

The building has a high degree of authenticity remaining largely unaltered from when it was constructed between 1868 and 1871.

The construction of the church reflects the belief and conviction in the Anglican Faith of the South Greenough community, and optimism in the future of their church in the community.

When viewed within a wider context, the church contributes to an understanding of growth, development and decline in small towns in wheat-growing areas in Western Australia and Greenough specifically.

The building is the sole remaining historic public building in the South Greenough locality.

The site is one of only three sites on the Greenough River Alluvial Flats where the critically endangered summer scented wattle forest with scattered River Red Gum ecological community remains.

Wurmbea tubulosa, a declared rare flora has been discovered on the site.

Looks to be owned by The National Trust or the City of Geraldton, windows are boarded from the inside and the single front door is chained and padlocked. A peep through the crack in the door shows that it is an empty shell, there doesn't seem to be anything inside.
