Coogee Maritime Trail

Lovely little swimming and snorkelling spot. The Omeo wreck is only metres from the beach and great for kids and first time snorkelers. Plenty of fish to see but can get very busy with restricted visibility from all the sand being churned up.
The snorkeling “trail” is a little overgrown and indistinct but we had fun swimming around looking for it.

A few hundred metres down the beach is a netted off swimming area with floating pontoon. Was very popular with lap swimmers. Note parking is minimal be prepared to park in the streets and walk a bit to the beach.

Such a magic spot and a little hidden which is even better for us locals.

Great place for snorkeling/scuba diving.

Wonderful spot to snorkel. The wreck is in great condition and in fairly shallow water, suitable for beginner to expert snorkelers. Visibility is perfect most of the time. The actual trail goes deeper and deeper and shows you great marine life. Every now and then there's a stinger, so watch out for those. There are no facilities and the nearest public shower is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive south.

Good easy dive. If diving go early as some of the snorkelers get a bit pissy with divers.

Great place for a day out. Fun exploring the wreck and other items in the trail. Steps straight down to the water and plenty of lawn area to stretch out on after you have done the snorkeling. Great Perth attraction.

We love snorkelling there. I have seen variety of marine lifes, fishes, Octopus, squid, stingrays, crabs, sea slug and many more.

Except for the jellies. Its an easy n fun swim.

Great place for snorkeling for beginners and children. I used to come here when i was a child in the early 90s and back then it wasnt so accessible to the public like it is now

Good amount of space for sitting down before getting into the water down the stairs that lead straight into the water. Shallow, sheltered water all around the wreck, great for beginners. There are showers and feet wash stations to cleanup after. I would suggest bringing your own shelter - if required.

Get there early as parking is limited. Beautiful area with Lush grass for a relaxing experience.

Great family water experience.. Easy access to the water over a bridge of stairs (as long as you're OK with stairs) Short swim out to wreck and rest of the trail.. Looking forward to exploring it more

Snorkelling on the wreck at coogee was fantastic. Plenty of fish to see and visibility was fantastic. Great place to check out. First time here. Will definately be coming back.
