il Ciao Applecross - Authentic Italian Restaurant in Applecross

Good food and superb service. This place is perfect for me for any type of gatherings. They have a huge indoor seating with lots of beautiful framed decor and wall paintings and al fresco. Their staff were very friendly and accomodating. He even recommended a few dishes and he was right recommending the pan fried squid. It was everyone’s favourite except for the tartar sauce, we all agreed that aioli may be a better option nonetheless this calamari is prolly the best i had recently. both the texture and taste was top notch. We had pasta and beef too which were served warm and with generous toppings. Their wood fired pizza (haven’t tried yet seems very appealing too, so I’m gonna add it to my list for next time. We had rocky road chocolate for desserts, although slightly hard, but the nuts portion and marsh mallow was just right and not overpowering the chocolate.

Absolutely five star service from Luca, he went above and beyond to make the day perfect. The food was brilliant the ambiance perfect. 10 out of 10. Great customer service and atmosphere. The food is a tiny bit pricy,but still worth it. I recommend this If your looking for an authentic Italian restaurants.

After hearing numerous rumors about changes in food quality under new ownership, we decided to test it out. We visited Saturday and it turned out to be the best decision ever! The food remained consistent, particularly the Spaghetti Marinara, which tasted just as delicious as before. We had the chance to meet the new owner, a delightful lady who took the time to talk to us.
Here's a piece of advice: if you enjoyed the dining experience at Il Ciao, revisit and give it a try. The food is still prepared by the same chefs, and taste is unchanged.

Brillant food, child friend great service. Don't know how you were able to cater to my fussy toddler but you nailed it. We will definitely be back again !! Thank you :) delicious :)

Came here on a busy Saturday night and they found us a seat within 5 minutes of being there. Pizza was great! Not too oily and had good flavour. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout the night.

Visited this cafe for the first time, my friends had visited before with the previous management.
The food was great, the service was prompt and we got excellent advice from the waiter, which turned out to be exactly what we wanted.
I loved it. My friends were concerned at first, but very pleased with the result. As one said "New Management, but still excellent food".

Been there a few times now, Each time has been great.
Real family vibe, great portion sizes, awesome food, service is top notch.
Great to see some new faces, new owners are very friendly and happy to hear that familiar staff and cooks are staying on and the restaurant is not changing.

We went to il Ciao as a family and the atmosphere was wonderful. The food was amazing, and the new owners went out of their way to make sure our night was perfect. The owners are so invested in their business and it really does show. 10/10 from this family!

Six of us enjoyed a great night out at Il Ciao on Saturday. the new owner greeted us warmly and our waiter was superb, and nothing was too much trouble. The garlic bread was buttery and crisp around the edges. We all ordered the pasta dishes and my Arrabiata Penne was perfect. Our other friends enjoyed their meals. Prices are very reasonable and huge portions.
The owner offered us complimentary Rockie Road which was very generous of her. The ambience is great, very Italian with a mural of Florence, a fountain and other pieces. Well be making Il Ciao our go to restaurant from now on.

Perfect taste, did remind me of when we were in Italy. last night was the first time we went to this lovely restaurant but it is certainly not going to be last time. Loved their service. It is little loud in their but I guess that makes it a family restaurant.

Went and had dinner here with the family the other night and it was awesome... The service was on point with friendly small talk and the food was AMAZING! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area to pop on in and enjoy.

While dining at il ciao i had taken the time to ask myself what does it mean, "il ciao" in its most direct translations means "the hello" and at first i didnt understand. However diving a little deeper it only took a small amount of time to learn that il ciao is not only a restaurant for delicious and authentic meals. But a home for those in need of welcoming. From the moment you arrive you can see the connections built between the customers and the hard working staff. Everyones important. When talking to what i believe to be the owner he said "people come here because they know they'll have someone to listen. Someone to talk to and someone to feed them" and with this food for thought, i realised to myself perhaps every meal could be a home cooked meal when you feel as welcome as when you enter il ciao. Thanks for the experience more so thanks for "the hello."

We had a delicious meal & the service was amazing. Will definitely return.

I have gone past this place far too many times to have never been here. I'm disappointed in myself for not having tried this place sooner.

Came here after a gym session with my mate and we both wanted a feast fit for a king.
We both got the veal parmagiana with a side of spaghetti bolognaise. This meal was packed just right, the meat was tender and the cheese was perfectly melted over it all.
The ham was a bit lost, maybe a thicker slice of ham would have helped it stand out a bit more. But the hero being the veal really came through.

The pasta too was great paired with this. Next time I come here I will without a doubt be trying a pasta on the menu!

Garlic bread was huge too, I was glad we only got two pieces!

As a group of 7 people we all agree it was lovely food was excellent as was service. We will be back next month for sure .

I would recommend going to this restaurant. Excellent service, gourmet, and fresh food. And more importantly, friendly staff. I think this restaurant has run smoothly from my experience. I applaud for the success that the Perruzza Family has done to run this restaurant as a family, terrific effort!! Hence, I definitely would recommend dining in this restaurant for future occasions.
