The Rio

I recently celebrated my birthday upstairs at The Rio. What can I say… Tess and the team went above and beyond (absolute legends), the food was great with plenty of it and the whole place is a vibe! Definitely worth checking out.

Haven't tried the food this time but will definitely be back to try different things

The best thing, apart from the cool, viby, local bar scene ( a woman sat alone outside reading a book as we arrived), in this BoBo part of the inner west, is the amazing genuinely delightful staff. Had a 50th upstairs this evening, and the staff were impeccable. Literally until closing. Who stays positive and helpful that long? Perfect dive bar with cosy function room upstairs.6 good tap beers. Contemporary cocktails. Dive bar also means the building is a case of "beautiful decrepitude", exposed distemper walls peeling, and barely functional windows and air con that need an upgrade for a warm night upstairs.... (Please fix)... Cool.

Omg my new favourite place! Lived in the area for decades myself and I don't really go to the local cocktail bars but so glad I did here.
The staff are soooooooo nice so fun I actually feel like I am away on a holiday somewhere (especially when I leave lol) the cocktails are awesome! Great ambience! It has 2 levels. The decor is so cool. If you ever get to visit ask the the story behind the place! Tess and.her staff the best fun and makes a nice change to summer hill to have some funkiness and smiley faces❤❤❤ best Martinis

Intimate and contemporary yet casually comfortable. Perfect place for small groups or couples. Cocktail menu is creative and masterfully curated. Charcuterie board was so good we had a second!! Thanks guys.

Awesome food last night.
The last time I was here the food was a bit let down but this time that food was wonderful , sensational. Well done chef 👨‍🍳
Those butterfly prawns were the best I ever had followed by the lamb and oysters. The sauce in the oyster were just amazing.
Arguably, the best bar food in a while. 👏👏

I love this bar - can't believe I've only just discovered it. The site used to be an old milk bar that's been beautiful appointed with funky interior with a lovely airy feel.

The food is great. Service is amazing - best in class. Drinks are bloody lovely.

Love this joint!!! My fave spot to wind down with the best cocktails on the block, delish menu and customer service is all ways consistent and with a smile. Highly recommended spot to get what's good!!

Great place to have a food and drink , It was my first time I have been there with my friends and it was the best place outthere . The atmosphere was too good and the food was delicious . Thank you to the RIO family .

Amazing venue, food, service, atmosphere, drinks and staff. Always the first choice for a guaranteed fabulous night out, (or afternoon, it’s 5pm somewhere after all….)

Just had a first sip of a thing called a Bowtie and literally couldn't not yell a 'oh my god what is this?' because it's the best drink I think I've ever had.

Having visited several times for drinks and snacks, I was looking forward to hosting a birthday party upstairs at the Rio, and it didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly, helpful, and incredibly accomodating. The food was good (slightly limited if you're vegetarian, but certainly manageable), and the atmosphere was amazing. I didn't have to worry about a thing and will absolutely be back for future events!

We just stopped in for pre-dinner drinks and had a lovely time - the service was friendly and welcoming, the new guy was superb and comfortably engaged with our banter. The olives were to die for.

Been here twice (once on a Sunday afternoon for a cocktail and chips to share and once on a Saturday night after dinner for some spirits)

The first time we came was on a Sunday afternoon and we ordered a couple of cocktails which were really nice and had a lot of cocktails to choose from on the menu. We also ordered some fries and there were really nice! It was a lovely Sunday afternoon.

The second time we came to Rio was for a couple of drinks after dinner on a Saturday and it was much busier. We sat outside and it was really noisy as a group was having their Christmas party. The staff remembered us from last time and was really friendly again.

I found Rio was much better on the Sunday afternoon as it was much quieter and more relaxed so I would recommend coming here on a Sunday afternoon.

This is an amazing bar for Summer Hill. I highly recommend and will be coming again.
