Nice short walk, mostly shaded. Went mid-tide so there was a bit of water. Spotted a few different birds and a possum. Would like to go back during early morning or evening when there would be more wildlife activity.

Nice little walk, shady for the most part. Lots of bird life and different types of mangroves as well as crab holes. Easy walk to do with kids.

It was a rainy Tuesday afternoon during our School Holidays. Went for a drive with the Grandkids to check out the playground, the historic sights at East Point, and to see if the wallabies had ventured out.
A very beautiful place and is FREE to wander around. East Point is home to the Darwin Military Museum (pay Admission) and some gun turrets and sheds from WW2 that I think are free to roam around in and the Pony Club backs onto the Museum.
Some beautiful walking tracks, PeeWee's restaurant(check times), and an area to fly model Planes are available.
Two large playgrounds and Lake Alexander is able to be safely swum in all year round. BBQ's available for picnics and toilet blocks.
At low tide at East Point you can fish off the rocks and maybe catch our famous barramundi!
Lots to do and you can do it all for FREE!
Enjoy.

Great short walk into the wilderness. Enjoy the mangroves at end and explore different birds and crabs while reaching the final boardwalk. Once you enter the dense bush area, it’s not too far before you are at end.

Some Tiwi people camp in the bushes during day. You won’t see or hear them mostly but might see a free passing by when you are walking. It was interesting to talk to some of them as they showed me their camp sites and taught some words of their language ( Ivannah - Hello).

Beautiful short walk from East Point through vegetation, onto the boardwalk and into the mangroves. We went at a time when the tide was coming in so we could make it to the end. We saw a range of crabs, snails and mudskippers.

Really great walk in East Point when the tide is out. Lots of trees, crab holes, and mangroves. If the tide is in, you will not be able to make it to the end. It's still a pretty walk, but the end with the mangroves is the best part.

Beautiful area for birding. Just be alert for crocodiles while high tide.

Short but well worth it. Bit of water on high tide.
5-10 min walk, unlike the 30 min posted. Take a camera with you as it's a great photo opportunity at the end of the walk way

Went back after visiting earlier in the week when tide was out. Tide was up which made it a very different place although on lookout for Crocs.

Short walk out to the most pristine mangroves I have seen. Did the walk around noon at mid tide, so there wasn't much water about but did see numerous birds, a couple of lizards and small crabs. The path is pram/wheel-chair friendly with bitumen or boardwalk the entire way. Highly recommended. Go at high tide and you might also see a Barra or a Croc!

We stopped there on the way to the Military Museum. I was surprised who nice the climate was in between the mangroves. My dad who was visiting from overseas loved it. The last 50m were still submerged with water in the second half of June. Definitely worth a refreshing stroll.

Nice spot for a walk through some unique mangroves. I also spotted and got pretty close-up photos of an unusual snake and a little crab while I was there. The tide was right out during this visit and also just near the start of the walkway, I sighted a dingo type dog, I couldn't get near to it for a close-up. Certainly worth a look.

Went at low tide. Fun to see all the different multicoloured crabs. Short but interesting walk.

Is super cool to see the water surround the bridge. Makes it look as though a flood is coming and feels like I'm in a Hollywood movie where a croc or a piranha is going to jump out and eat us . Really exciting to be this close to the water.

Brilliant walk through mangroves over the top of the ocean. Note the boardwalk goes Underwater somewhere near a 6m tide... Not exactly sure but aim for 4m or so and you get best of both worlds and walk on water.

We were there on a quiet day just as tide was receding. Fascinating to see all the birds and creatures. A manageable walk even for this elderly and arthritic senior.
