The Ration Shed Museum provides such a rich insight into Cherbergs history. Our tour guide Natasha brought a positive energy to the space and an honest representation of the stories told by many community members.

Very impressive. A balanced collection and very informative information about the painful history of the indigenous people "relocated" to Cherbourg QLD. Aimed at remembrance and reconciliation. Lovely gift shop, very friendly people giving first hand information. Worth a visit.

It gives you a small insight into what our elders endured. Clarifying why my dad done what he done. Every person has their own story, own journey to tell.

Amazing history about how our Aboriginal people were treated at the start of the 20th century. They were treated as Inmates. But really were poorly paid slaves. They couldn't escape and were brought from all over Qld. So a lot of them lost their local identity and instead became a new Mob.

It was an honour to visit the Ration Shed as part of an educational field trip and to hear and see the truth about our shared history. Truly a moving experience.

The Ration Shed is a place full of important stories, illustrated by powerful photos. It is really well cared for and the staff are kind and informative. However hard it may be to learn about this history, more people should know about it. Thanks for being there.

A great place for people to visit if you're wanting to discover a more in depth perspective of the struggles that people in this community faced. Making the most out of very little, this communities endeavours and success to overcome their situation but also hold on to memories of it through the form of the ration she'd are inspiring. I hope for the best for the future of the people in Cherbourg.

Incredible museum of early settlement and recorded history of how indigenous people of that time were mistreated and oppressed. Well worth the effort to go hear stories first hand from the direct descendants. Shop also sells original and authentic artwork and the likes.

One of the few places in South East Queensland that paints a true and emotional history of relationships between non indigenous and indigenous Australians. Truly harrowing and the after effects still present today. A good three hours journey from the traditional destinations of sunshine and gold coast. However it highlights how the wealth of Australia was acquired, the wealth which is prominent in these glitter strips. Wealth was derived from total contempt of the rights of Australia's first nations. Murder, genocide and mayhem are only but a few descriptive words. The staff are non confrontational and are open to questions. Beautiful well kept historical buildings lay the backbone of this historical place. They house a truth via immaculate and engaging presentations of this often forgotten or hidden history.

Felt sad, the truth is important. Everyone needs to visit. These are the land owners of this country, every step we take, they own and have been treated so appalling terrible.
