This place is great for a leisurely brunch or lunch. It has lovely decor with lots of tables inside, outside and also upstairs. There is a good range of food on the menu for breakfast and lunch with plenty of vegetarian options. They use local food and drinks with their own house blend of coffee which was great. They also have a shop next door selling fun decor like what you see in the dining area. There is a big car park so parking is easy and you can get a key to the toilets out the back. It is conveniently on the main Mt Barker Road so a good lunch stop when visiting the Adelaide Hills.

Hands down best breakfast in and around Adelaide.
Indian eggs - mind blowing.
Malaysian bang bang - THAT Risotto cake wowowowow.
Interiors are too cute, colourful and just perfect.
Don’t go on the negative reviews, it’s nowhere close to any of that.

Definitely a top place to visit again.

First time there with our son and daughter in-law who have been there a few times and recommended it so we invited some friends from Adelaide to join us for lunch. The food was to die for and so fresh ,tasty and delicious. We ordered Happiness in a bowl and Malaysian bang bang. Service was excellent and meal size just right. We will definitely be back.10/10. Thanks

Every time we come to Adelaide we have to go to FRED Eatery. Really interesting combinations of ingredients.

Happiness in a Bowl is a great combo of pork belly with omelette and noodles (my favourite) and my wife had the delicious squiddly diddly.

Very friendly staff too (shout out to Todd)
See you again next year

A cafe/eatery located about 25 mins drive from the Adelaide CBD. Went there for Brunch. Ordered the 'A Little of a lot', which you get a little of most standard breakfast items. The highlight of it is their roasted mushroom, which is dry enough to give an intense flavour, but yet juicy. Also ordered the 'Mushrooms on toast 2.0'. As its name, it also have the Roasted mushrooms on there. It is still juicy, but the mushroom flavour is not as strong as the other dish, which have only one small mushrooms. It may be something to do with the size of the mushrooms, so the time on the grill may need to vary. It will be great they can master that too.
On top of the 2 usual brunch dishes, we also tried 2 fusion dishes. One is the 'Happiness in a bowl', which is like a Korean X Vietnamese feel. The other one is 'Indian eggs', which is a lightly Indian spiced scrambled egg. They are both very interesting to try if you want something difference. It is a lovely place

This is a top little cafe/restaurant in Adgate in the Adelaide Hills.

Parking is easy, and access to the cafe is a short walk from the carpark. Booking is made easy via the internet.

Sitting upstairs in the mezzanine area is a real treat. The menu is quirky but a delicious range of items are on offer. There is something for everyone. We had the Middle Eastern lamb meat balls, egg & bacon rocket roll and the avocado & halloumi sarnie. We also ordered a rise & shine smoothie and a chai latte. All of these were excellent. Hot, tasty and well presented.

For dessert, we ordered and shared a delightful cherry tart.

Staff were very friendly and efficient.

We were happy to be sitting in a dry and warm eatery on a very cold and wet wintry day.

This cafe is worth visiting anytime.

Great place for meals, staff were very helpful and plenty of parking out the back. Appears to be a very popular place so bookings are essential. Would go again the next time we’re in the area.

This delightful place is one of my absolute favourites. You can tell the owners are real foodies, the quality and flavours of the food never disappoint. Don’t forget to check out the daily specials for the extra special flavour bombs.

Round #2

Yet another perfect way to kick off our Sunday.

If you haven't been... then you must.
If you have... then you know.

Thanks again to the team at FRED for the most delicious food; and coffee (which is the best in the Hills by far).

Round #1

The hills are alive with the sound of FRED...

Yet another of example of an Adelaide Hills eatery that shows them city slickers how its done.

Ok yes the prices are a premium, but the plates of food reflect their value. A creative bfast / brunch / lunch menu that boasts fresh, flavoursome and seasonal produce.

Speacial mention to the staff who despite being flat out, still found time to smile and chat with my daughter.

The coffee here was also on point.

Yum yum yum!
Sunday Brunch, busy morning but food came in a reasonable amount of time. Fresh ingredients and plenty of food for even the hungriest person that comes in. Well worth the trip up the hill. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu at lunch time next time we are in the area.

We stopped in at Fred's for a quick coffee but came away with so much more. Fred gave me quite possibly the best soy cappuccino I've ever had and by far the best in Adelaide. The attention to detail in regards to the decorations was amazing and the friendly and helpful staff created a warm and inviting environment. I look forward to coming back to Fred's with the rest of the family to try some food.

Fabulous breakfast or lunch venue with an Asian twist using local produce. Situated in the beautiful Adelaide Hills with a lovely homewares store next door by the same owners. Dogs welcome in the outdoor seating areas with water provided for a fluffy little ones. Highly recommend.

The best part of this cafe is it’s location, very close from Adelaide CBD just 20mins drive and It’s situated on Adelaide hills. I fully enjoyed my time in the cafe, friendly staff, fab interior. Cappuccino and Tiramisu cake slice in the chilli weather super amazing combo. I definitely recommend this to everyone and will surely visit again. Loved it😍

I highly recommend Fred Eatery! The service & staff are excellent even under pressure on a busy day like father's Day. They have a wide variety of cakes, even gluten free and vegan options. The food is delicious, great choices for breakfast and lunch, it's a go-to for us in the Adelaide Hills!

What a great vibe with indoor and outdoor eating. Just perfect for all types of weather days and moods. The front bar for quick walk in take away coffee is always buzzing and the staff are non stop zooming around with smiles and happy waves and hellos!
Heading out the back you've got more little spots to sit down and enjoy a great coffee shop culture or if the weather is great, head outside for some lovely Adelaide Hills fresh air. It's even better the mobile signal is poor out the back so it forces you to switch off and just really enjoy where you are.

Food is fresh with everything sourced locally to support Adelaide business. Even the coffee cups are eco friendly and were a great compliment to the style and vibe.

I can't wait to come back!
