Etty Bay Caravan Park & Cabins

Amazing location. We had two beautiful nights with our two kids, enjoying the cassowaries and the beach. Very basic but an absolutely amazing location right on the beach, with cassowaries wandering through the park at dusk. We could have spent weeks here very happily. Hope to be back some day!

I booked the beach cabins and a campsite for a group of us arriving from Cairns in October and some of my family visiting from Canada. It is not often you are blown away by location, cleanliness AND service. Being in hospitality it is so refreshing to experience this and I take pride in being able to write an awesome honest review for a local operator that is just killing it. Our stay was incredible.

The rooms exceeded expectation as they were ready for our early arrival and came with more than listed online. The cottages were modern and chic and had everything you needed - not to mention the location was stunning (view of the ocean from the bed!). The camp site had plenty of space for parking and overlooked the entire inlet. We saw the Cassowary 3 times during our 24 hour visit and the beach was beyond perfect with clear water, soft sand and shady areas to relax.

This place made our visit to Etty Bay extremely memorable for myself and my overseas family and as a Cairns local I cannot recommend a getaway to Etty Bay enough. The staff were friendly and accomodating and this was an all-around YES.

We had an unforgettable stay at the Etty Bay campsite. The cabin offered the perfect mix of cozyness and amenities. The surrounding natural spectacle was breathtaking, and the opportunity to observe wild animals in their natural environment, especially cassowaries, was a real highlight. However, I must point out that the prices are rather high. Nevertheless, for nature lovers who are willing to invest a little more, this campsite is definitely worth considering."

We take our caravan to Etty Bay regularly as we live locally. It’s the best place to go it’s our favourite and so close. A really special place. Staff are lovely and very accommodating. Amenities clean. Always leave feeling like we have been away for weeks.

We stayed here to see the Cassowary and were not disappointed: a male wandered by and around for twenty minutes. But also without the birds it was a vert nice stay in the beachside couple’s cabin. They are not large but spacious enough; nice modern and clean. A definite recommendation.

The beach front cabin was very cute. The bed was a bit hard and the linen was not made for tropical Queensland. The power loss to the fridge was unfortunate and the whole lot being unplugged the next day was really unfortunate. It would be nice if there was a shade sail across the front deck…… it got very warm. Shame the council workers drove by 4 times on Friday and never did any work to help get the stinger bet in place. Will be ringing the council about that. Thanks for the love care and attention I got.

We stayed 2 nights and loved the beach and campsite. Stayed on the side behind the bathrooms. Need some levelling there.

It was a treat to see the local cassowaries.
Missed the fish and chips as they open Thursday to Sunday.

We can see why it’s a spot to visit.

Awesome stay- the campsite is right next to the beach- which is really nice to wake up to and to be able to hear the soft crashing of the waves. We saw multiple Cassowary’s during our stay, and only 15 mins drive to Innisfail for your shopping needs etc. not much phone service down there and wifi isn’t amazing- so prepare for a digital detox - would recommend for a friend

Etty bay is always a 5 star stay.
The park located smack bang on the most perfect beach is world class - cassowaries roaming freely amongst us!
If you are a caravanner - make sure you book in advance as is a very popular spot

We booked in for 1 night grabbing a beachside cabin (40ft container converted to a room). Very clean. Modern and spacious. Had everything you could need. Bed was very comfortable. Great view to the beach. Seafood basket from the shop was excellent. Staff were great.

Best beach and campsite we have been to in Australia. Small, but the beach is incredible. And the cassowary visited every day. Thank Rebecca for the extra help with the fridge!

Great spot for families or couples retreat... bring your own food or they do ave a takeaway shop or basic foods at reception... keep a look out for the big oversize turkeys.

Absolute paradise , don't go past without stopping in at Etty Bay, the cabins were fantastic and the van sites were too. We has a blast.

What a great place to stay! Very friendly staff, easy check in and great location. Cassowaries everywhere coupled with a magnificent beach. We stayed in a caravan looking right at the bay. A playground and rock pools for the kids.

Lovely place to stay. Wished we had more time to stay longer. Just watch your food or the cassowary may steel it, it got my burger after chasing me down the beach for it 😅

We were a couple in a family cabin for one night. All features of cabin very good and spotlessly clean. Benefit of family cabon was the cover over its verandah. Cassowary appearance right on cue too. Beach is very close. Highly recommend

Lucky enough to see the cassowary as soon as we arrive the park and in the very early morning. The park is great very close to the beach. Clean amenity and grassy camping grounds. Definitely love to visit again for longer time.

Beautiful location. It's only a small park so it is isolated from most of the holiday park crowds. Seeing a cassowary is almost guaranteed as one visits the park most mornings. Just be sure to keep all of your food and scraps out of it's reach.

This was one of our favourite places during our 4 week tropical north queensland road trips. The little shipping container cabin was AWESOME. clean beautiful and modern and beach right outside. We got there after hours had no problems checking in , saw cassowary and enjoyed our night there and then checked out before staff was onsite. We would stay longer next time and chat to the owners. We love the shipping container idea. We went and got food at Inisfail i didnt plan well enough and didnt realise there werent any shops at etty bay so recommend you go get a bite at inisfail or bring some food with you
