White Crystal Apartments Mt Hotham

Stayed for 3 nights after a last minute change of plans to remain in VIC due to the covid outbreak in Sydney. Entry instructions were clear and easy (door code to main building then lockbox next to the apartment) and the spa bath was a welcome sight after a hairy drive up the mountain in low vis (not to mention a lovely luxury for sore legs after a day on the slopes). The Studio Apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for basic meals plus a drying cupboard. I’m sorry to be leaving so soon! Will definitely try and stay here again. Worth the proximity to the Hotham Central (just downstairs), Summit Lift, meeting points and Miss Mary’s Bar.

Location, location, location and light and airy. Did I mention location?

Honeymoon potential

Staff were great. Unfortunately that’s were it stops. For the amount charged per night I was expecting a 5 star chalet. The pics on the website are either outdated or they probably show you a pic of a rare room. I paid nearly $600 per night to have a tidy but dated ‘hostel’ type accomodation on top of an overpriced mini mart. Barry basic room with no bed head (basically a motel room with a mattress and - cheap table with some chairs) Some really dated pots and pans and paper thin walls. I’ve certainly learnt my lesson and won’t sugarcoat the fact that besides the location this place is grossly overpriced.
