Axedale Tavern

We enjoyed our dinner here midweek. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere was lovely. We will definitely come back again in future and recommend to out friends.

Staff awesome, very welcoming and took us to the beer garden. What can I say, quintessential Aussie country pub, great food and live music. Perfect.

Lovely, cozy tavern with a large beer garden out back. Had just recovered their beer services following the recent flooding on my visit and the "no beer on tap" notice was removed as we ordered a local lager. Had the mustard chicken and it was amazing.

Food was great and the outdoor dining area/beer garden was nice. Beer was cold (of great importance!) And staff were great.

Great pub, excellent food, l had a light meal of calamari salad with a garlic aioli, my partner had the steak sandwich with chips, A1 customer service, spotlessly clean. The Tavern also has live music and a cafe. Highly recommended.

Stopped in for a cheeky beer and wine with the Mrs and our dog. Bar staff super friendly. Great little beer garden out back. Didn't have a meal but kitchen looks great, will next time. Great spot - check it out!

My uncle is a local to Axedale and I tell ya what If you want to go to a pub go to the tavern it’s brilliant great staff, awesome food and fantastic atmosphere probably one of the best small pubs I have been to would definitely recommend going there. Parma was probably the best I have had in vic !!

Great local tavern! Such friendly and attentive service! Simple yet tasty food. Axedale a few minutes from Bendigo but worth driving to for a real local country hospitality. Can't go wrong with the brisket.

We were served by a young and enthusiastic hospitality team when we visited the Axedale Tavern at 105 High St, Axedale. The Tavern has several unique dining spaces both indoor and out however on this coolish night we dined inside. I ordered the flavourful Salt and Peppered Calamari with beer battered chips, salad and garlic aioli. Worth a mention was the salad dressing that took me back in time. I would swear it was the ol’ condensed milk favourite that Aussie mums all over Australia used to make. While you wait for your meal to be cooked you should take the chance to read clever signs on the walls. If you are after a good old-fashioned Pub / Tavern type meal with a friendly atmosphere, and a warm welcome you can’t go wrong here.

Beautiful tavern, delicious food but most importantly it's not often you find kindness. Thankyou for feeding my family outside your kitchen hours. We will return for lunch on our way back from our trip. All three kids rate it 10/10 also!

It’s a lovely country Pub with very friendly people. They were dog friendly and very accomodating. The food was excellent and came out quickly. Will return.

Nice historic pub 15 minutes drive from Bendigo - excellent ‘beer’ garden/ outdoor dining area. Very popular and no wonder, the meals were delicious and well priced; the service spot on!

we had a beautiful relaxed afternoon and enjoy a lovely meal, my only remark would be for the guys meals when not ordering salad and veg they had a side of fries they would have accumulated to that of a children's fires a McDonalds. My opinion if your saving money on veggies a few more chips wouldn't break your budget. is was so nice and relaxed other than that we will be back.
