Okami Japanese Restaurant

Oh boy! Was that ever yummy! Food is super tasty, but delicate in flavour. The beef with honey was finely poised but not super sweet and danced well with the sesame flavours! The prawn gyoza was so much better that the vegetable version and the accompanying sauce for both just tickled away in the back of the throat! The only slight was that the carpaccio was ever so slightly still super chilled to the point of frozen, but a few mins on the table rectified that.
Out of 40 different dishes on the menu, we had 17, so I guess I need to go back again and try them.... 😉

This was amazing. Fantastic prices, food was to die for, service was fantastic and so fresh and quick. Definitely worth going to, but I strongly suggest you book as it gets very busy. Was one of the best dining experiences we have had. Also tables, high chairs, toilets everything was very clean.

Great value for money.
Delicious food in small entrée size servings - ideal for testing new dishes.
It would be a great experience for cautious less experimental diners.
Between 2 of us, we ordered 11 dishes plus rice.

Went here with my partner for my birthday, and everything was amazing.
From the service, atmosphere and most importantly to the food. All the servers were super friendly and the food we had was so fresh and tasty!

Very nice selection on their menu. Didn't return any dishes from the menu so was very impressed with each item that they had.

Always an absolute pleasure dining here. Staff are fabulous and can't do enough to make you feel comfortable. Food just keeps coming as fast as you can order it. I recommend you try the sparkling sake to have with your meal and don't be afraid to try all the dishes. Leave room for ice cream at the end!

The food was expectedly outstanding, but what really stood out to my friends and I was the phenomenal service provided by Jack. Jack ensured that my group felt safe, comfortable, and most importantly, hungry! Walking through the doors to this absolutely gorgeous location was admittedly a little intimidating, but Jack made it all better.
Even if you don’t like Japanese food, come here for Jack.

"All you can eat" option is very well worth it, includes many vegetarian dishes (so grateful! Managed to try and finish around 18 dishes by myself ). Quality of the food is really good! Decent portions of each dish too!
(*Be aware of their leftovers policy - anything more than 200g will be charged. So if you want to try everything ask for small portions first and please don't waste good food.)

Service was good, we got everything we ordered, waitresses kept checking if we wanted to keep ordering or if anything was missing.

Personally suggest viewing the menu beforehand and ordering upon being seated due to the 2 hour seating time and hot dishes take time to prepare.

Expect a busy and slightly noisy atmosphere, but excellent quality food. Don't fill up on water, you're going to want every inch of tummy space.

Had a lovely dinner out with my friends, service was quick, efficient and respectful. Food was absolutely delicious and staff was incredible. Massive thanks to Jack for absolute bonza service !!

Wonderful place to eat. The atmosphere was enticing, we got to sit near the windows so the light was well and nice without ever feeling like too many people were looking in.

They were quite busy so service wasn't as quick, but that's expected when you're full house. However they were incredibly nice and did their best, we're all human and considering the situation they were great.

Food was divine, the steak and prawn gyoza especially. I'll be going back again, that's for sure.

Nearly like Melbourne. Not quite, waited too long for order to get to table as its a set menu 2 hours to get what you want, but getting, the attention of staff was near impossible, and the tuna is definitely not blue tuna , whatever tuna they serve as sashimi was so pale and no taste, also I had a pea shaped bit of wasabi on my first dish, and none with any of my other dishes maybe the chef should study at teppenyaki inn, Collins St Melbourne, also Yaku Siku in little Bourke st could teach them , I would be there every night if it was actual authentic Japanese food.
